I agree that 64Gb would probably be ok given it will really be a note taking, not replacement, device. The 10" should easily keep (and upgrade to) a USB 3 port, but the 8" - I don't see how it could ever support a full size USB port. What the 8" vendor crowd REALLY needs to solidify is a docking port solution - my STRONG recommendation would be mini Thunderbolt/displayport, BUT I doubt the Bay Trail processor supports that (it seems the industry drags its feet using the built in support in the Core processors to begin with, so what's the luck of that). Still, that single port could handle both high speed data (Thunderbolt and USB 3) and WQHD video, and make for a great universal docking solution.
Oh well, so much for fantasy dreaming...
I doubt that Onelink will be available for Tablets. The new 10" TPT also should (like the TPT 2) have it own dock, not Onelink.
The TPT 8" (8.3" exactly) should be available with Windows and Bay-Trail (it is listed in the Lenovo Roadmap with "Haswell", and the TPT 2 is listed with "Ivy-Bridge"-Generation Atom CPUs). Also, it should be a bit more expensive than the Miix2 (399 instead of 299 as the starting point).
TPT 3 with 10" indeed won´t be available before 2014. Maybe it will be announced at CES, would fit in the timing they will release it, cause it should be released in spring.
Guess I am returning my Surface Pro 2 again. As a PC replacement, this is to small for me to work on comfortably, and its kinda thick for a companion device, even though the surface handles the note/inking like a champ. Not gonna bother with the venue 8 if Lenovo has a thinkpad 8 in the pipeline now. Sorry but I will spend that $100 more for a more pleasant inking experience.
Thats good news. I havent fit mine in my white coat yet since I've mainly been using it for emails at home. I'll have to give the venue im "borrowing" from Walmart a try before I decide if the 8" form factor is worth it.
So far I am super impressed by bay trail. (i've used almost every clover trail device, and while its fine for just simple word processing, when trying to do more than that, it gets super bogged down).
