Yeah - I agree that a keyboard able to fold would have been very nice. However, I can live with the detachable keyboard, it will be like using my old HP TC1100 again. The Lenovo sleeve which holds both the tablet and keyboard looks fantastic.

It easily beat out the other options for my use case. Unfortunately the unit had run out of power so I didn't have a change to view its performance while inking.

In terms of why I've chosen this one, my list is:

    1. It has a Wacom digitizer (apparently) which is essential for me. I have tried the n-trig devices and have vowed to never got back to these again. I live all day in OneNote taking notes and syncing them to my desktop. There were lots of machines with no digitizer or only n-trig pens.

    2. It has a really nice form factor. Its one of the smallest devices - comparable to the Samsung Windows RT device or the MS Surface. This is great for me as I will use it as a writing slate, for content consumption and occasional productivity machine. I will continue to use a desktop for the long documents and other heavy work. I don't see any problems stepping down from my current Series 7 Slate which now feels big and heavy.

    3. The look is great - very professional. Lenovo have avoided all the shiny aluminum and cheap plastic which appears on the other devices. My perception is that the unit is comparable to the MS Surface in build quality. This is a big plus for me, I don't want to be in meetings looking like I am using a laptop. I want the slate to disappear into the background as much as is possible. The smallest Fujitsu device also looked great but was n-trig.

    Cheers
My problem is where to place the order. The shipping date of MS online store is so late. I am wondering if ordering from Lenovo may be cheaper and faster.

Also, I don't think the MS store version comes with the pen. The Lenovo rep mentioned that it should be available by the end of the month. My order is scheduled to be filled next week but I will believe it when the device arrives. I have ordered the 64gb model with the 3g/4g mobile connection.

I think it does, but it would be nice if they wrote it explicitly. The SKU listed on the MS Store page is 367926U. This model has the pen according to the link that user pmf posted: http://www.lenovosolutionscentre.com...nkpad/features

I believe the wording was "up to 40% off" Now I'm just eagerly waiting for the distribution center to get some stock in!
Thanks for clarification. The 35% off goes for two of them or just one ?

On the top of that, the keyboard connector is not magnetic but mechanic and that is a weak link for me; the keyboard does not have extra battery. I had so bad experience with TPT1 and in specific with TPT1 folio keyboard bad design (keyboard not holding tablet firm so tablet screen would rub constantly on the keyboard keeping the tablet away from sleep modus and constantly draining the battery).
Sorry Lenovo but the competition has better technology and even more important to me, far better service.

First, I have always had superior service from Lenovo.

Second, I do not believe there is a magnetic keyboard that has a battery, so you will have to choose one or the other.
