two months in on my X220t
So far, it's easily the best computer I own.
Pros: great run time with the slice battery
Wifi set up is better than previous Thinkvantage versions
4x4 antenna is nice
SSD is very nice, wish it was 40gigs bigger
fast wake-up, boot
Inking is better than my old X61T
keyboard action, volume controls, touchpad
bluetooth is finally working as well as initial promises years ago
Speakers are better, microphone not so much
Subdued styling, doesn't look like a million bucks (a Pro for me)
Windows 7
Cons: Windows 7, 64bit made a mess of my XP programs, drivers
I've come to hate virtual PC
Screen is set up for older eyes, some buttons are off screen
pretty pricey
Slice battery latch is not simple, just like the dock on X61T
I think I'll keep it. It never occurred to me back in 07 that tablet PCs would go obsolete. It seems to me that when I'm ready to replace this one, I won't find another version. (this is from a guy who has/had Visors, Pocket PCs, Palms, smartphones, etc). Any guesses on what we'll be using that fills this niche in 5 years?

Re: two months in on my X220t
Glad to hear you like it! I'm currently dithering between picking up an X220T or an X220 to get the classic keyboard before they change. While I have an earlier model X tablet, my daily drivers are my X301 combined with my iPad. I'm trying to decide whether I need the tablet features in a new X220 model going forward.

Re: two months in on my X220t
If you want to get better sound out of your X220T you should try uninstalling the default Conexant Drivers and installing the Dolby Digital Drivers, as outlined here. It is really an amazing improvement.
I can imagine within 1-1.5 years or so there being an influx of Windows 8 slates that will fill the niche somewhat nicely, though hopefully convertible tablets like the Ideapad Yoga will be more common. Ultrabooks or laptops with touchscreens would be nice too.Lenovo Thinkpad X220T | 12.5" 1366x768 Multitouch | Core i5-2520M 2.5Ghz | 8GB RAM | X220 Ultrabase | LG L227WTG 22" | Windows 8 Pro 64-bit | Intel 160GB G2 SSD | GTX 460 x1.1Opt

Re: two months in on my X220t
Will this audio driver change work on other models too? I have an x200t for instance, and it has terrible or sound quality. It's practically a joke it's so tinny.
Currently own:

Re: two months in on my X220t
While I can't find any substantial evidence that it does not work on an X200t, my guess is that it only works for the current generation of thinkpads. The main source for this driver is from the link to the lenovo forums, and it seems exclusive to T420, X220, W520, etc.
