Energy consumption problem x201t

I have two years x201t i7 640.
Unfortunately, around October 2011 I decided to reinstall the system and install all updates Bios, etc.

Since that time, im so frustrated....
Laptop should get around 8W.

I'm not a noob.

I preintall it hundreds of times.
Since that time, and many combinations turned off wi fi, wwan, blue tooth. Clossing of everything possible in Device manager.

Consumption is on the level 15 - 18W using Firefox and wifi.
Time on battery abought 3h.

What are your bios??
I have 1,38 Maybe there is something wrong. But I did not copy the old.

Maybe there is something wrong with the new power manager??
What version do you have??

Do you have a minimum energy consumption program??

Im not a noob.
Something must be wrong with the new software.
Maybe someone has a recovery disc?

The second problem is the camera.
It works but when I turn the lid.
The camera freezes for a moment.
I get the message about finding the device.
I think that is no driver to rotate the screen.
I tried many drivers for this unit. It's always the same.
The camera is physically efficient. I checked the wires. The problem is software.

We have almost identical computers (except for the screen). I have the latest of everything (incl. BIOS) and the Fujitsu drivers.

However, there is a design problem of our CPU. The graphics chipset (which is included in the CPU) seems to have a problem with constant power drain, and also the 640/620 lm CPU has a design problem which makes it consume more power to less performance than the Core i5! I learned this afterwards. I also believe that the multitouch layer requires more power.

In OneNote with brightness at ten gives me 4,5 hours. Using Chrome with adblock, gives 3-3,5 hours. Chrome without adblock gives 3 hours or less.

I also tried Ubuntu 12.04. Ubuntu requires less power when browsing the web, but the power drain is almost constant (probably because of the faulty graphic chipset and even worse drivers which doesn't put the CPU to sleep). Sorry, but our computers doesn't get any better than this, and it's the main drawback of the x201t.

In the old original soft I had consumption of 8-9W and not 20 doing nothing.

The problem facing the year.
When you install windows 7 works only 5 hours. And is about 9W power consumption without saving mode.


The problem arose after updating the BIOS. Or is somewhere in the power manager.

Lenovo X201T Weird Battery Life


As you can see "o this is weird. Power Use: 7Watts, Battery life remaining 6 hrs."
No 20w and 3h.

Problem is in soft. But dont know wher..
Propabyl i unistal the windows. And dont instal power menager. 5h is mor than 3.

In old version power menager slider was a little.
A number of pitch levels were much higher.
Not 5 6 but about 15

My computer consumes 17-18w when running Chrome with Youtube and 9w typing in Word/Excel.

Press windows-key+R and type msconfig. Click on Startup and uncheck everything you really don't need. Let all the Lenovo, ThinkPad, Microsoft and Intel-softwares be checked.
