X200 Tablet - Wacom Blue Screen of Death - Help!
Hello...hopefully someone can help & point me in the right direction...I have a Lenovo x200 tablet PC (Stylus Only Version) - and recently installed Windows 7 Professional (64bit)
The OS install went perfectly...Once installed, I did all the Systems Updates for Windows 7, including all the updates for Lenovo using System Update 4.01.....However, I have an issue that I cannot seem to figure out...
PROBLEM # 1
The biggest issue I now face is, the moment I put the Digitized Pen next to the Tablet Screen the laptop crashes & I get the 'Blue Screen of Death'....and system automatically Reboots....This ONLY happens when the Pen touches the screen...
I uninstalled the 'Wacom Drivers' - within the Device Manager, which i assume were installed by the system update(s)....After, uninstalling the issue of the 'Blue Screen' is gone....However, I still have no way of being able to use the Pen...it does not show any cursor or inking....I assume this is a driver issue, but at this point I have no idea what driver I should be installing to make this work properly...
Is there a specific DRIVER that I have to find & should install on my own to make this work properly - without getting the 'Blue Screen of Death' each time?....I really need some guidance on this issue.
Any type of reply would be greatly appreciated....Thanks!..Last edited by dragonxi; 12-18-2011 at 07:14 PM.

Re: X200 Tablet - Wacom Blue Screen of Death - Help!
I found these 2 links:
x200 Wacom Serial Pen Tablet in Windows 7 - Lenovo Community
BSOD when using pen - Lenovo Community
Seeming solutions? BIOS update, Wacom driver update, erase all pen drivers (MS and Wacom) and reboot and update, complete OS reinstall, using a different HDD, etc.
Unfortunately, it seems very varied. One person seemed unable to find a solution, but almost everyone else seemed able to. I'm sorry to hear you're having this problem.Did you recently buy it? Is it still under warranty?Currently own:

Re: X200 Tablet - Wacom Blue Screen of Death - Help!
Unfortauately, the [ISD_DualTouch_701-8.exe] Tablet PC - Enhanced Graphics Driver didnt work...
In my Device Manager I do see the drivers are installed, for example:
[Human Interface Devices]
-Virtual Touch Driver
-Virtual Touch Interface
-Wacom HID Pen
-Wacom Two Finger Touch
-Wacom Virtual Hid Driver
[Mice and other pointing devices]
-PS/2 TrackPoint
-Wacom Mouse
But, I still have the issue of the BSOD the moment the Pen is on the screen....I even called Lenovo because the system is still under warrenty, but they told me - since I upgraded the OS software on my own - that they cant really help me...

Have you tried Steve's findings like firmware update?

Re: X200 Tablet - Wacom Blue Screen of Death - Help!
Ya, pretty much...Ive done a Reinstall of the OS...ive uninstalled & reinstalled the drivers etc...
Im not sure if maybe I should be using an older version of Wacom Drivers...or ive seen some talk of people using Fujitsu drivers for pressure sensitivity...Do you think that would work?...
I feel im running out of options...

Re: X200 Tablet - Wacom Blue Screen of Death - Help!
There is no 'pretty much' for firmware updates: try this firmware System pen and touch input devices stop functioning - ThinkPad X200 Tablet
Your issue is at a basic hardware level, different software/ drivers/ OS will NOT solve the issue as they make no changes at the basic hardware/\software interaction level, while a firmware update does make changes there (how do I know that's where the issue is? well I have never seen or heard of this issue on any Wacom or other branded Tablet PC... though it is possible that if you or someone else attempted a partial tear down/ disassembly on your X200 tablet that you/ they didn't put the cable/ connector entirely back in all the way and that partial connecion to the hardware is causing a major conflict which results in BSOD -not too likely this is it though)Last edited by Agent 9; 12-19-2011 at 08:24 PM.

Re: X200 Tablet - Wacom Blue Screen of Death - Help!
Okay, i tried to do the Firmware update - but, when I try to run the firmware update I get a popup message that says "...cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows."
Any other suggestions.... :-/

Re: X200 Tablet - Wacom Blue Screen of Death - Help!
In the link to the fix it says
basically use a external CD/ DVD drive, burn the disc image to a blank disc, then boot to that disc on the X200t...
To update the Wacom digitizer firmware, download the firmware update ISO image, create a CD, and boot to it.
I would assume following that will work if you do it right.Current: HP 2730p Win 7 & Linux Mint | Toshiba M4 | Motion M1400 renice 120GB SSD | ITRONIX IX-325 | Motion F5 (U7500 update) | Fujitsu P1620 | T4220 w/SXGA+ 160GB Intel X18-M & 1TB HDD in bay | broken TC4400 [for experimentation] | i5 3570K mITX desktop w/GTX460 | ASUS N10j

ya, it seems that particular firmware wont work with a 64bit Windows....
