Fitting the 6 cell and the slice battery should make it level right? or would it still have a bump?

Still have a lump, I think. The slice has a protrusion to allow for the 6 cell.

Thanks! I always wanted to see pictures for some clarity!

Small question what card do you have in the card slot? It's not a USB 3.0 card is it? And if it is would you be able to tell me the model name? All the ones I've seen protrude from out of the card slot.

Edit: Why is the 52 never available on the Lenovo page? Anybody know of a reseller with stock?

    Hey Heat

I notice that you have most of the good tablets offered these days: Slate 7, Ep121, and X220t, to mention a few.

I also have the Ep121, Slate 7 and was considering the X220t.

What are you thoughts on this one? How do you think it compares? (relatively)

I think both of the the slate models are great; although the Slate 7 has serious issues, it still is a big step ahead.

    Mac,

You weren't talking to me but I thought I share my thoughts with you as well. I recently just returned my 2nd s7s. I did it because the x220t just fills the role the s7s would have played and does it better and without the build quality problems. (It's built like a tank, the x220t) It's faster (i7), has way more RAM (16gb), dual storage options (msata, and regular sata), and has world class construction, with world class keyboard and trackstick. Also the fingerprint scanner is very well integrated with the OS, and the pen issues have all been but ruled out. It is the rolls royce of the tablet world atm, imo.

If I didn't have the x220t already, I would probably go with the s7s a03 or higher. Just because it can do everything well, and is so portable, even though it's still really big.

However if money wasn't an issue, I would for sure go with the x220t. It has unlimited storage potential, 16gig of RAM, and is built like a tank.

Samsung would be more highly favored to me if their weren't so many build quality problems. Because outside of that Samsung has done an excellent job with it.

With sales the X220T is about the same price as the S7S (ignoring the Microsoft in-store discount). Even better, for 1200 the X220T will have superior specs.

That's the thing. The Samsung really has issues.

The bottom line is that the S7 is perhaps, not a quality item. Although it is by itself in the svelt-ware category, it is of questionable build quality.

I own one and it has the problem with the screen. I think they all do.

Also, I'm a bit confused about the storage options with these as, frankly, it's a bit weird. I know that the SSD's are 1.8" with some kind of adapter. But then I read that the HD isn't 9mm but 7mm? Do they make 7200rpm 7mm drives?

I was referring to it's touch and pen integration. On the two models I had they were perfect.

So if I can consolidate a bit it will be great.

I noticed that you can upgrade the X220t to 16GB now for $140 US. Wow! If you need this amount of ram this is a very appealing asset. (note: I wonder how many people really need this amount? I don't know. Curious.....)
I know for myself, it's useful for running virtual machines. The more ram you have the more you can run concurrently. More ram would also be useful for any kind of 3d art program, or CAD. As the larger the project the more space is necessary.

I would go as far to say that unless you have a very specific need to use a ton of VMs 16gb is not really necessary and is just a luxury.

They do. At the time I ordered my x220t they where offering the 320gb 7200 drive as a free upgrade. I went to price another for a friend not so long ago, and saw that they had removed that option. I think it's because of the quake and flooding in the area. I've notice plotter drives prices sky rocketing since then. Hopefully they will become available again as things stabilize and damage is repaired to the factories.

As far as the normal 2.5 (not 1.8) drive slot, you are correct. The drives need to be only 7mm though. There is a thread else where, I believe maybe even on the Lenovo forums, that details all the drives that can be used here.

However if you can get the 320gb 7200 drive you should. It's a very good drive and from what I've seen based on charts and stuff is one of the fastest platter based storage options.
