Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
It's actually worse than your overlay makes it seem. The areas closest to the edge are already offset from the tip of the stylus by at least a few mm. I tried using a tabcal with >20 points to see if it would improve the stylus any, but it did not. I'll probably throw Lenovo an email to see what they say, but I have not yet. I even installed Ubuntu because someone had mentioned better success with the Linux driver. I wasn't able to repeat that success.

Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
I tried removing eraser function as someone mentioned, it didn't do anything.
I disabled my touch input, then used folded paper as a ruler and tried drawing straight lines in autodesk sketchbook pro trial.

And some photo's of the bottom edge.

I used my digitizer pen from x61t. That's why the color is different. It does the exact same behavior using the new pen.
I called lenovo support, they said they can send me a box but I refused. I'm going to see how the return process works, or maybe talk with sales people on Monday.
In my experience, once you send your laptop to the depot, they come back with scratches, mixed screws, over-tightend screws, plastic crack in the inside, and it's only visible when you actually open it up yourself. But the warranty service speed is really fast, and if you keep *****ing they keep replacing the parts.

Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
Hi, I am considering a x220t, but would would use the digitizer pen for note taking only. Do you feel this problem is an impediment for that?

Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
@hp79
very meaningful images, thanks. I bet this must be really annoying. It's very interesting to see though.
At your screen corners the transformation grid seems to densen, making to cursor not follow the pen fast enough towards the edge whereas in the case of the user "kcin" (see last page), it shows the reversed effect, the cursor beats the pen towards the edge.
This fact makes me almost certain that is has to be a software issue. An increase AND decrease in sensitivity along the normal vector towards the edges is highly unlikely caused by "the same hardware design".

Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
I've been inking extensively for note taking with my x220t since I got it ten days ago and this problem does exist on my unit as well but in no way has effected using OneNote on it like I do with my other Tablet PCs, in fact the speed of this device has made it my favorite device to ink on, along with the matte finish on the screen.
Hopefully this issue can get sorted out but I still really like the x220t and think its great for ink note taking.• Samsung Series 7 XE700T1A-A04US 11.6-Inch Slate (128 GB, Win 7 HP)

Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
I would argue that it does indeed cause problems when taking notes. If I try to use onenote in portrait mode, most of the menu items require me to watch the cursor and manually offset the stylus so that I can get the cursor over them. So I'm basically click the stylus a centimeter or so away from menu items I want. It's ridiculous. It takes much longer than necessary to tap the draw tab and then change pens, etc.
edit: That said, everything else about this laptop is great, but if that's all I wanted I would have just bought an x220 and not an x220t

Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
You have a point however for note taking in OneNote landscape works much better IMHO because of the 1366x768 resolution regardless of the pen issues.

Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
I'm starting wonder if it's more pronounced on your machine. I used the X220t for 2 weeks and never had a problem hitting menus in OneNote or anything else. I use a Quick Access Toolbar under the ribbon with about 15 most used ink tools. Never had a problem hitting any of them. I also alternated frequently between 100% and 125% DPI to test which I liked better and never re-calibrated the pen or touch for that 2 weeks.
I also drew straight lines down each side in portrait and landscape though admittedly did not do the kind of diaganol lines show here. Was also able to hit the little icons in the notification tray with pen or touch. Lastly, was able to hit the razor thin line above the hidden task bar with the pen. Never saw the kind of gap between the stylus and the cross hair that I saw in the video above. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_w5lCPvnJwLast edited by richman; 06-26-2011 at 04:41 PM.

Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
It sounds like mine is definitely worse then. I run into problems with the menus in landscape mode as well.

Re: X220T Pen Input Screen Edge Sensitivity?
Okay, so I uploaded another video in youtube about this problem. Please take a look. This is totally unacceptable. I tried recalibrating several times, and it doesn't help.
