This firmware update has solved the problem for me! My x220t is now just about perfect. Lenovo, PLEASE keep up the good work and I hope that next year's convertible tablet for Windows 8 sees some good improvements cause I'll definitely be in for one.

Sorry to bump an old thread guys but I've been goggling for 2 days and can't find the proper answer I'm looking for.
I'm thinking of getting the x220t to mainly use for photoshop. Is it easier/better to use a touch screen with the wacom pen like the x220t or is the general preferred method a graphic tablet and pen?
The reason I'm asking is I'm undecided in which to buy, the x220 or x220t.

Sorry to bump this thread and maybe not to throw it off if someone could even PM me I'd be very grateful.

Ultimately it is up to your preferences: do you prefer to have the pen cursor under your pen, or to have the disconnect from hand to screen? Also, based off your post I can't tell if you know, but while the pen (as in the literal Wacom pen) works fine in art programs, touch (as in fingers) is really not supported in any art programs for even basic use like panning or zooming (ArtRage is the only I know of that does support touch well, but even then its not really useful)

As to which, I say a Tablet PC with a Wacom active digitizer is a far far batter option than a laptop/ desktop and a traditional drawing tablet... BUT I'd strongly urge you to not waste good money on a brand new device as you can pick-up a really good machine used on ebay (or refurbished from manufacturer) for typically $500-600, but some go for $350-400 or so, and unless you will be doing extremly heavy photoshop paintings or 3D modeling then you won't notice a difference between the slightly older and the newer ones (the Core 2 Duo era stuff performs nearly identically in actual use to even the latest Core-i based ones; not much progress has been made); some of the better ones are the HP 2730p, 2740p, 2760p; Lenovo X200 tablet, X201 tablet; Fujitsu T4410 & T5010, T730 & T900, T731 & T901; and the Motion Computing LE1700, C5/ F5 (Core 2 Duo ones), J3400 & J3500...

Final thought - The screen is very important to how you use the machine, so please consider the fact that the X220t (and S7s) use the stupid 16:9 aspect ratio that is very squashed and almost useless in portrait mode; as opposed to the common 16:10 aspect ratio that is at least quite usable in portrait mode (or the 4:3 aspect ratio that exists on even older products and has a very usable portrait mode)
