Re: Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Tablet Review Discussion
Isn't accelerometer in the HDD as part of the shock protection? At least with an SSD installed the auto-rotation option is grayed out.

The auto-rotation isn't grayed out on my x201t, and I have SSD.

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Tablet Review Discussion
Nice, maybe I'm not looking in the right place? On my x220t I go to 'Control Panel > Configure settings in tablet mode' which opens a dialog 'Auto Screen Rotation Settings'. The dialog shows a checkbox for the initial screen orientation in tablet mode, and a grayed out checkbox 'Enable ActiveRotate' and a 'Calibrate' button next to it, also grayed out. This is with a Samsung 830 SSD.
Edit: Nevermind, earlier in this thread hp79 says " If you clean install the OS, and did not install HDD active protection, automatic rotation function would be grayed out."
Edit2: And my second concern, apparently the SSD won't be stopped upon shaking/dropping with the AP system is installed: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=98762
Edit3: OK, that works, except Lenovo disabled auto rotating to the secondary landscape due to regulations regarding the antenna. This has to be one of the least informative dialog boxes out there. No picture, no 'help' option, non-intuitive name (with SSD we're not 'protecting' anything..).Last edited by JoeS; 01-20-2012 at 07:27 AM.
