Re: x220t owners
nostriluu,
I've handled an older Lenovo Model a while back and it felt quite weak over the PCMCIA-Slot as well, never broke though.
Can you please comment a bit on the screen? My major concern is the reflectivity/contrast. Does it look washed out when there is lots of background brightness (cloudy sky) for instance... like in this photo?

This is my primary concern. Appreciate anything you can tell me about it! Thx

Re: x220t owners
I hope you're right about that flex, it isn't confidence inspiring. I have had a number of Thinkpads, and each has suffered outer shell cracks (I'm having trouble selling my last one because of this).
I love the x220t's screen! (though perhaps because my last notebook's screen was relatively bad) I find it bright and crisp, it has vibrant colours, good contrast, and wide viewing angles. It is nothing like your attached image in my experience. However, I haven't tried it with bright overhead light.
There is also a bit of backlight showing through the bottom of the screen under some conditions. And the proportions are a bit weird in tablet mode.

Re: x220t owners
yeah, the images from the review of this very page make it look really bad, but then again they pretty much all look like it. I can only guess on how they took those photos, probably with a studio flash. Anyways, it's an indicator of how low the contrast level might get in bright surroundings.
It'd be great if you could try that out quick and dirty some time!
cheers.
About the corner: Of course I can't tell, haven't handled the unit. It sounds bad and that a decent dummy-card could provide the necessary support so one won't crack the outer hull with the thumb.

Re: x220t owners
no, OneNote is part of Microsoft Office 2010 (and was of 2007 and 2003 versions).

Re: x220t owners
Congrats! I got mine today as well, an i7 like yours only with 8GB of RAM and a 320 GB 7200 RPM drive. Would like to go to an SSD but I really can't or don't want to go lower than 320GB of space.
So far this thing flies, with an SSD it would really run but I'm okay with it as is as I need the space. Yeah, there is an offer to get Office when you start up the machine, unfortunately there is no included OneNote which is something Microsoft should REALLY try to promote, it's such an awesome app, installing Office 2010 now.
Also I got a 3 cell battery which does fit flush in the machine, no hump, half the battery life but machine is a bit nice to handle and lighter with it, probably the battery I'll use the most as I don't generally need long run times.• Samsung Series 7 XE700T1A-A04US 11.6-Inch Slate (128 GB, Win 7 HP)
