Re: x220t owners
Ordered my 4298F0U, time for the waiting game to begin. Hopefully the outdoor screen actually ships, and it's actually Gorilla Glass. If not, and Lenovo has been BSing us this whole time, they have gained an enemy for life. I love the way this tablet looks on paper, time to sit back and hope it's as good in the flesh, and that it shows up before July.

Re: x220t owners
I've also noticed the riddiculously low priced 4298FxU . Check out the 4298F2U at costcentral, $1300 for core i7 and other goodies.
But what I'm skeptical about is how it doesn't appear in the tabbook, and even when I emailed costcentral they said they have no further information regarding this tablet. It doesn't even have a profile picture. Do you have any more information on the 4298F0U?
Also, people with 42962WU, please keep us informed with your tablets.

Re: x220t owners
I called costcentral, they told be estimated ship date for my 42862WU is 5/26. I placed my order on 4/14/2011.
They didn't have any information about the 4298FxU models. The 4298F0U with i5/320gb/4gb outdoor screen seems like a really sweet deal at $1153. ($25 less for the multitouch screen). But unknowns are warranty length, webcam, bluetooth, fingerprint, wifi.

Re: x220t owners
I don't really care if it comes with the camera and FPR. Bluetooth isn't a big deal either, being that I'll rarely use a mouse. I would assume, at this price, that the warranty is one year, which is fine. WiFi is upgradeable if needbe. I just want the outdoor screen and 2520M, as I will add my own RAM and SSD.

Re: x220t owners
I really want the camera because I skype with my parents, and it sucks to pull out a camera and plug it in, even if it's just once in a while, it's just too clumsy.
I use bluetooth keyboard and mouse with my laptop, so I definitely want the bluetooth integrated. I would hate to use a micro BT dongle.
Fingerprint reader is the most useless for me. The software sucks so I don't even install the driver for it on x61t.
I think the wifi will be a intel 6205 looking at the tabook, none of the pre-configured models except 4294-eu which has a i3 has anything else other than 6205.
Warranty.. If it is 1 year, it should be at least $100 cheaper than the 3 year model. Maybe that's where the incredible price is coming from?
[i5 MT 3yr $1250] vs
[i5 MT 1yr? $1128] vs
[i5 OD 1yr? $1153] vs
[i7 OD 1yr? $1290]
If they all come with webcam and bt, I'd probably go for the i5 OD model for $1153. Anyways, I currently have my order placed on i5 MT 3yr model and the i7 OD model since nobody knows the exact specs of the 4298FxU series.

Re: x220t owners
Side note about the fingerprint reader: on the lenovo tablets (the X220t, and hp79's X61t) can you configure boot up to keep it from continuing unless you either swipe your finger, or type a password? I ask because it is just the most handy feature on my HP, and I'm sure it should be on the Lenovo's as well, and in the case it does then it is useful for at least that (though I only use the fingerprint reader for such a function, the driver is not installed in Windows)
