I don't understand how you can find it slow though.

When i run vista i use a 1.2ghz c2d processor with a 4200rpm drive. You must have at least a 5400rpm hard drive, so it would be much quicker.

Also are you sure its actually your processor? Usually the hard drive is a major contributor to slow speeds. If your processor is maxing out then okay it is the processor, but i thought you may like to have this info thrown out there.

Sorry for going off on a tangent, but i thought this would be useful info.

EDIT: god dang internet connection, double posted the first line.

    Crazy... Yes

You might be able to. But it is unlikely the BIOS would recognize it. The socket is a FCBGA6 which I don't know if you can buy CPU's for.

When is it slow for you? Mine is similar and I have no speed issues. Maybe something else is bottle-necking you.
    No more tablets...

    Thats what i was saying.

    The 3 main bottlenecks are

    1) the biggest is the hard drive.
    2) Ram. you have 3gb so you should be fine
    3) Processor. This is the fastest component of the three. replace as a LAST resort.

I am leaning to the hard drive, because with my 1.2ghz processor i am fast as can be. also 3gb of ram is more then sufficient.

Do you know the speed of your hdd (5400rpm or 7200rpm)?

Kpvic, thanks for the pointing out the typo. I have corrected that.
    The hard drive is 7200rpm.
If its not slower at 1.2 then at 1.6 it should not be. May be something else.
Two things that are coming to my mind are
    1. THe RAM. my ram is a combination of 1gb from lenovo + 2gb that i brought from cosair. Could this be an issue

    2. My comparison is with my dell laptop, running with 2.ghz processor and windows vista home premium ( tablet has vista business)
