RE: Lenovo warranty issue
My problem is I've had a lot of problems on my Lenovo X60 Tablet. The double sided latch broke off, the palm rest got weak, so I sent in the tablet for repair. Then I get a call from Lenovo/IBM telling me I must have dropped by unit as the hinge was broken and all twisted. Apparently the broken latch caused the convertible hinge to turn the wrong way. I figure it doesn't matter as I have accidental, so I didn't argue.
Now my issue is I got the machine back NOT repaired, and not only that, they changed the display LCD with one from a regular X60 (as in I no longer have tablet capabilities!)
I sent it in again to get that fixed along with the rest of the repairs. I get it back again, NOT fixed. I do this another time.
Finally after getting a call from the supervisor at the depot. I am told my unit will be repaired by a senior technician and supervised. I initially asked for a refund, but they insisted on repairing it, so I gave in.
Now they have not returned my machine in over a week. I called the supervisor last week and she said I should be getting a phone call regarding the repair status.
Still nothing and I would like some advice whether I can get a refund and the legal issues and stuff,
I don't if this is right place to post this, but I think I can get some good advice from here.

Re: Lenovo warranty issue
How long have you had the x60? First I heard their customer support was bad and now this. I wonder if i should cancel my order and buy something else.

Re: Lenovo warranty issue
I've had the machine for about 4 months and some.
They tried to pull a "Parts on backorder" on me when I ordered it (so they could deliver if 3 weeks late). I called to cancel and they delivered on time. Now this time, I am told that the parts are on backorder for 3 weeks, they've checked every shop in the Western Hemisphere (BS!) and they can't find the part.
I've a couple other Lenovo non-tablets and they kick butt, but this one doesn't cut it.

Re: Lenovo warranty issue
Yes. I ordered the Ultrabase and the only option was a 4x DVD burner. When I called to ask what was the part on backorder, they said it was the DVD burner. When I got the machine it was supplemented with a 8x burner... (In other words they hoped that I would not complain about the better part). Of I didn't call, then I would have just had waited 3 weeks and got what I ordered.
The thing is, I even called their senior support to tell them that if they gave me a SXGA+ screen instead I wouldn't mind, but they were like "We must give you what was on it originally".
