Ahh.. you mean using the keyboard as a Tablet stand.

Yes, I've used this feature many times.

    Thanks.

If I have a flat surface nearby, I generally flip the screen then rotate the whole laptop horizontally so the keyboard faces away from me. Then I write on the exposed screen which is good and close.

The other thing I do is slouch on the couch, practically open it flat, and lay it against my raised knees, screen bent toward me a bit. It's a seriously useful tool for the couch-surfing lazy person!

I like to do the couch-slouch thing too, especially with a laptop stand - I have one that hooks nicely on my knees and keeps my T4210 high up on my laps so I can type more comfortably (without my hands getting cramped against my stomach)

Which laptop stand is that? Looks like a nice little "hack" for your tablet use.

It's made by Aidata, which I believe is a Taiwanese company. They don't have an online store, so I think the only way to find their products is through other online or local retailers. Their products are really bang for the buck - that stand only cost SGD9 here (~USD5.8).

They have a few other laptop stands, including one that is similar to the Coolermaster mentioned in another thread (at almost half the price too!). If you can find one, I'd suggest taking a second look - it might be your next laptop stand ;-)

Of course, that particular stand las limited tilt - what you see is its maximum tilt angle, hence the need for another stand for tablet-mode use while seated at the table.

Adding to your poll Krypticide: today was actually the first day I swiched my tablet to laptop mode and used it, ever I've always used it in tablet portrait mode on my lap, until I had to type more text in polish today (I write on this forum using handwriting recognition, but it works only in english)

Wow, thanks for the responses. I'm still working on the project, but it's mostly on the backburner for now because of school commitments. One of my classes is basically going through the process of doing a VC-backed startup, so I'm allocating quite a bit of my time to it.

It was a sort of Starbucks moment. One of my friends came up with a small accessory to help her use her tablet in tablet mode, but now we're looking at modifying it so that it works for all orientations. Think of it as a stand.
