Rep Power: 4 | the amazing lenovo service The quality of lenovo’s service is just, for the lack at words, amazing. At first I upgraded my standard warranty to two-year onsite, After three weeks, their system still showed that my warranty is expiring in 2008. I called in, and was transferred from department to department without gelting any real help, After 1 hour and giving out my customer number and order number for at least six times, someone told me that they have updated my warranty information in their system. I was then asking to upgrade my warranty from 2 year o 3year, No problem, I was told and was hanged up, but I didn’t receive any confirmation emails so I called in in again, Turned out the person just throw my order am any, and I was actually scolded by the second sales representative for trying to make the upgrade. He made it sounds like I was such an inconsiderable person that I totally don’t care how much trouble I would cause for the lenovo people. Although I was feeling ashamed, I decided to insist on upgrading my warranty. I was told that he can reluctantly do so. But guess what, my order was thrown away for the Second time.
The lenovo orderly department is an asylum run by the inmates. that the only conclusion I got.
On the positive side, I totally loved my X61t despite the bezel problem. |

IBM sold the whole thing and has ZERO to do with it now except for their leased logo on some machines. Get a clue
OP - sorry to hear that. Might help to file an official complaint? I think there is a process for that |

Rep Power: 5 | Re: the amazing lenovo service I would like say that the service I've recieved from Lenovo's Canadian division has been great. A few weeks after I got my X61t I phoned the hotline to upgrade my warranty to 3yr onsite + accident protection plan. There's usually zero hold time for the Canadian support line and I'm seldom transferred. I was informed that although they normally don't allow the accident protection plan to be added on after the machine is purchased (due to the potential for abuse), the agent would try to get authorization for the upgrade and get back to me. A couple of days later the same agent left a phone message at my home as well as sending an email saying the request had been approved. Totally painless, only took a single 5 minute phone call.
Later when I had problems registering my system on the warranty site I sent an email requesting support. They promptly determined the error was on their end, solved the problem and thanked me for bringing it to their attention.
I've recieved nothing but stellar support from Lenovo Canada so far.

Thanks for the flame, I always wanted to be personally attacked over a misunderstanding.
From what I've heard, IBM is still a company, though it's been bought by Lenovo. Also from what I've heard, the IBM division provides the tech support, while Lenovo handles sales and customer relations (badly). From both what I've heard and my own personal experience, IBM differentiates itself from Lenovo when you call tech support. Forgive me if I wrongly assumed the people working in the IBM division knew how the computers were designed and supported, while the people in the main Lenovo division like to screw you over. But I guess since Lenovo owns IBM, they really are just playing games, making me think IBM still exists and is helpful, while all they're doing is using the IBM logo to catch my interest. I feel clued in now. Thanks. |

Rep Power: 3 | Re: the amazing lenovo service IBM has NOT been bought by Lenovo. I believe that IBM sold their consumer computer business to Lenovo with a license to use the IBM/Thinkpad name. I may be slightly inaccurate and I apologize in advance, but without question IBM is still a seperate company. |
