Re: Windows 7 tx2z drivers?
It probably does matter. N-Trig hand develops the drivers for dell and hp. The Dell Latitude XT supports capacitive touch for 5 fingers and is only available with Intel chipsets, and the Touchsmart only supports 2, and AMD. Hardware is different, mother boards are different.
The Dell support page for the Latitude XT doesn't have drivers for Windows 7. That's why it didn't do anything. You just installed a Vista driver for the Dell as opposed to a Vista driver for the HP.
The W7 N-Trig beta drivers for the Dell Latitude XT are only available on N-Trig's support page. The package refuses to install on the tx2z. I do know from looking at pictures of the drivers installed on a Dell under Windows 7 that the driver version is the same. It's the firmware and software bundle version that are updated. There's nothing we can do except wait.
Also for anyone who needs any original driver packages from the restore partition, I backed up my swsetup folder before I reformatted and I can provide the files to anyone who needs them. arlynxyu@gmail.comLast edited by arlyn; 01-16-2009 at 05:21 PM.

Re: Windows 7 tx2z drivers?
Thanks for telling me that. I am very agree with you because after I installed the N-trig newest WM7 driver to my tx2z, the touch function is not working. I restarted for several times, but it is still not function correctly until I uninstall it. Then it go back to normal. I hope HP will co-operate with N-trig to create a wm7 driver for us very soon.

Have you tried re-installing the original driver? Use Hp recovery manager to do it from the partition on your hard drive, I had issues with my tx2000 and re-installed drivers from there and it worked perfectly.

Re: Windows 7 tx2z drivers?
So I finally put windows 7 on my tx2z and everything seems to be working great except for two problems.
1) I can't get the bezel buttons (rotate, mediasmart, mobility) to work. The only one I really care about is the rotate button.
2) Whenever I put the screen down in tablet mode, it will rotate into portrait (primary) instead of Landscape (secondary) like it did right out of the box. I don't know how to change it either. Anyone have any suggestions? Otherwise, I really like 7. It runs so much faster.

Re: Windows 7 tx2z drivers?
Install the QuickLaunch buttons driver. They should be on the C:\ partition of your original hard drive that shipped with the unit: C:\SwSetup\QLB\Disk1.
The rotate and mobility center buttons will work just as in Vista. The MediaSmart button won't unless you have that app set up I guess, I don't and that button doesn't do anything on my system.
Hope this helps.

Re: Windows 7 tx2z drivers?
Thanks! Sounds like that's exactly what I need. I installed 7 over the original Vista though, so where else could I find it? I'm pretty dumb when it comes to this stuff. I made the recovery disks and I still have the recovery partition. Would they be on there and how do I find them?

Re: Windows 7 tx2z drivers?
Thanks for the file, but I'm still getting the same thing. When I hit any of the bezel buttons, I just get a new process called "btnactn.exe" and I get a new one each time I push them. I finally got the screen rotation to default to Landscape Secondary via ScotchTapeMethod's post.
Now if I can just get stupid buttons to work...

Re: Windows 7 tx2z drivers?
Are you on the 32bit or 64bit of 7? My factory version of Vista was Ultimate x64 but this stuff installs in an x86 directory so I was thinking they'd with with 32bit as well. Have you installed any other quick launch button driver by any chance? I installed these and they worked without incident.

Re: Windows 7 tx2z drivers?
Nevermind, I uninstalled quick launch and then reinstalled the one you sent and now it works great. Thanks a lot for all your help. Windows 7 is running like a champ now. No complaints at all!
