Default Will the rubber feet bearers please stand up...

Sorry to start a whole new thread on this issue but if I remember correctly, a few lucky souls were able to obtain a life's time supply from HP some time ago.

Recently, I finally lost all my feet after a few visits to the repair center and now that I am no longer within the warranty period, HP will not give me the time of day on this issue. I am therefore appealing to all those that have extra feet to set up a system so that we can pay you for some replacement feet.

Have you tried HP's Part surfer? Seems that you can order parts through HP from that site of theirs. The part number according to the service manual is 592966-001. The link to the site is HP PartSurfer Pretty pricy though for the rubber kit.

I wouldn't recommend buying them. They're about 50$ for the kit. What i actually did is i made my own using a 99 cent hot glue gun and some patience. It actually turned out really nicely ^_^

I've used 3M Bump-on stickers for feet for speakers, as bumpers for the kitchen cupboards and to keep a desk phone from sliding around an office desk. If you really want something to stop moving around, there's the super expensive anti-stick anti-slip rubber roller tape that they make. I think those freaky dashboard friction pads are made of that stuff.

    :)ensen.

That's what I did on my dv5t, feet came off. You can also find them in the photo frame area, they're commonly used to put behind photo frames so they don't rattle. They work alright. Not sure how you'd replace the longer skinny ones though, since there really isn't a place to put them unless you put it on the battery itself as well.
