Re: Updated TM2 Drivers and Software
Have you installed it? How is it?
I would be so grateful if anyone has installed it and can report back. The trackpad is, for me, the very worst aspect of the TM2. I just cannot use it and for apps which are not touch enabled (eg, Chrome browser), there is no reliable way to navigate. I would not have gone looking and ended up ordering the new HP 2740p (see separate thread I started).
I sent my TM2 back to HP to look into this (and to fix a mechanical flaw), and won't have it back until next Monday, so I am champing at the bit about this new driver. If it "really, really works" I may do a backflip, save myself some coin (and a GPU), and return the 2740 and keep the TM2, my sentimental favorite.
Still, for those of you on the fence, whether about to purchase or still in your return window, do check out the HP Elitebook 2740 by Google - ing it and/or checking out the new thread here http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/show...d=1#post182629 - though at present it is mostly populated by my overzealous raves!
And thanks, meatlocker, for the quick notification.

Re: Updated TM2 Drivers and Software
I have a very quick question about the drivers...
I can install most of the drivers just fine, but then when it comes to the Intel graphics driver, whenever I tried to install it, it would give me an error message reading...
"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer. Setup will exit."
The same thing happens when I tried installing the drivers found on the hp.com website.
I have the ATI chip in my system too, and the ATI drivers install just fine. When I installed that though, I did not see anything Intel related, so I'm not sure as to whether or not the Intel drivers are covered in the ATI drivers...

Re: Updated TM2 Drivers and Software
I installed the new driver yesterday, and it's worse than the old one. I didn't really have any issues before, but still wanted to install the new one to see if it'd get better (because I KNOW it can be better). Trying to do anything with two fingers (scrolling with the regular bar, highlighting text) is completely screwy. Whenever I try to highlight some text, it doesn't highlight the last word I wanted.
so if i tried highlighting "though at present it is mostly populated by my overzealous", starting at "overzealous" and going backwards, it would un-highlight "overzealous" and the I-beam cursor would turn into a regular cursor, and completely messing up what i was trying to highlight.
one of my friends has a macbook, and i used it while another friend took my computer for a while, the trackpad on the macbook is so much better. the scrolling is nearly perfect, and it doesn't have any issues when you have two fingers sitting on the trackpad, with one moving the cursor around.
but the new drivers could work better for you, maybe my settings are messed up. i've gotten used to everything, otherwise.

Re: Updated TM2 Drivers and Software
I cannot find the appropriate multitouch driver (NextWindow does not seem to work). It seems hidden somewhere within windows 7. I was looking to update it (or check if another version is available) to (maybe) support more than 2 touch points. Anyone know who release this driver ?

Re: Updated TM2 Drivers and Software
Man. HP driver updates are extremely unreliable. I just tried the new touchpad update and it had so many problems. I can't turn my touchpad off, when I'm not in slate mode anymore. It would automatically restart itself every 2-3 secs after I turn it off.
