Dvd Cd drive ????
Hi guys, which dvd/cd drive are compatible with the slate 500? I bought hp vv827aa, it did read cd played dvd and once it even wrote on a cdrw disc but after that it just reads and plays cd and dvd tried it with different softwares. So if anyone could help which models are compatible, I would really appreciate. Thanks in advance

all USB based cd/dvd drives should be compatible. I've used a viewsonic drive (from the VOT132 seires), and an old hp external laptop drive.

My Panisonic external works fine with my slate.

gurk: I can't be of too much help; I use an HP DVD-300E, which I bought years ago and have used with many tabletPCs.
However, I'm a little surprised by your comment in the sense that I would have assumed that any HP optical drive would have been compatible with the Slate 500. Did you install the software bundle that HP typically includes with their drives? In particular, did you install any driver software?

I use samsung and LG external DVD drives with no problems.
