    Default Hp Slate 500 - System Recovery

    Look for help on how to do System Recovery and wipe all information on the HP Slate 500. I have the recovery DVD but do not know if need it and if i do how do it get it to work on the HP Slate with no CD drive.

    You will need an external DVD drive. You don't need one that writes, just one that reads. Plop in the DVD and it should guide you. I haven't used it but based on other recovery disks I would assume it will allow you to wipe your disk drive and may require you to wipe your disk drive so back up any files you have first.

    you can install windows 7 from USB (4Gb or more)

    Does anybody know the name and directory location of the 'HP User Guides'? The HP Support Assistant indicates that it could not find them after I did a complete recovery! Everything else works like a charm!

    Thank you but I already have that! I'm trying to restore them on the Slate itself. If you click 'HP Support Assistant' and next click on 'Learn' and next click on 'User Guides' I get a message that it could not find the guides. If I know the source directory on the Slate I can move the file in there. Maybe my explanation failed previously! Thanks.
