Appears that no shipping notices are going out today. According to the tracking page, most orders are now approaching 75-80 days from order to delivery. Almost 20 days longer than those who received their Slates after christmas. I find it unbelievable to see that the delay times are actually increasing by such a large amount.

I was hoping that my 11/3 order would ship this week, but have not received any information from anyone on when i can expect my order to ship.

I think the continued increase in order-to-delivery time is just hysteresis. Current order fulfilment appears to be exceding the current order rate, judging by the order status page, so they are gaining on the backlog. They are over halfway through filling all the back orders, so if the current rate of filling orders keeps up, they should finally catch up in Feb., I think. Interesting there are no post-new years orders on the list. I guess people are waiting now to see the backorder delay shorten and to see what, if anything, actually ships from CES 2011.

    Totally agree!

I'd lay money on HP putting most of their slate eggs into the WebOS basket. They would make a larger profit off a device which they own the O.S. for. I've never used that O.S. but Apply and Google have the tablet-lite-weight market pretty well covered. WebOS will really end up being too late to make a difference.

Meanwhile HP is pissing off a lot of people by not supporting the Slate 500 like they should.

I've said before that I'm in for a serious wait (ordered 12/3) and I'm as unhappy as anyone about it, but I don't think you can really say that HP is "not supporting the Slate 500 like they should".

I just can't believe that HP has not done everything it could to make this situation better (The shipping situation I mean. The lack of communication and poor efforts at reaching out to us waiting for the units, they have no excuse for whatsoever). No company *wants* a debacle like this to hang around, and from what little Rick has mentioned about what is happening internally in the process, I believe that they were beset with multiple obstacles, one of which was a major shortage of a critical Slate component.

I'm not saying that that makes anything better, I just think that if more Slates were able to be cranked out any faster, they would be.

Well, at this point, it seems my ship date keeps sliding out at a faster interval everytime I ask for an update.

I think we are at the point where we should let HP know how disappointing this is and start emailing Engadget, Slashgear, PC Magazine...etc. and let them know so they can publish this to their readers so others can see how HP is handling customers after poor product management.

    This is just getting ridiculous.
