    Default View Password on Screen

I know this is not a good security idea but inputting passwords on a keyboard-less slate, particularly when the keyboard doesnt show which key you hit. how do I turn on visible passwords?

Open the TIP. Go to Options-Advanced. See the Password Security Slider.

Also, for websites, there is a Firefox addon - Show My Password - that displays what you typed.

How well does Firefox work on the Slate? I'm really trying to keep the load down on the processor so I haven't even loaded Chrome.

FF 4 Beta 7 and the IE 9 beta work about the same in my oberservation. I think IE 9 might be just a tad smoother and I like the two finger instant zoom that FF doesn't support out of the box at anyrate. Other than that though FF is as finger friendly as IE 9 and if FF is the browser you want to use you should be fine.

Chrome doesn't really have any out of box touch support and the extesntions that I've tried just don't seem that great.

I use FF with no problems (except on some IE only sites). It does start to slow down a bit with more than 10 or 15 tabs open at once but it's generally fine. There are also a number of both touch and pen oriented FF extensions. But there are quirks as Window, n-Trig, and FF all try to decide who wins.

For example, for the pen, I use QuickDrag which allows you to drag links to open in a new tab or text to search for using the default search engine. Unfortunately, one of the quirks is that when using touch, dragging a link or selected text results in dragging the screen.

I will try Opera 11 when/if I get mine. The CPU foot print is small as my sister runs this well on a netbook.
