Here is an updated list of BIOS releases available for all relatively recent HP Tablet PCs. All of the BIOS images linked from here are original and unmodified, hosted at HP's very own FTP server.

Please refrain from posting BIOS issues in this thread, unless the issue stems from here due to inaccurate information. If you are encountering a specific problem that pertains to the BIOS, please create a separate thread for it in the appropriate forum section. You will likely have a much better chance at receiving a response in doing so. If you find a BIOS update or would like to make a suggestion or request for this thread, please post here.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• HP Pavilion/ENVY/TouchSmart/Slate BIOS images that are posted in this thread must be flashed in a Windows environment.
• Only use the BIOS release that is applicable to your particular notebook model. Do NOT attempt to flash a BIOS image that is not supported or designated for your model. Doing so will render your system unusable!
• Be sure to carefully read the guidelines displayed by the BIOS update utility to ensure a successful flash.

Not that I know of at the moment, unfortunately.

A quick note to those of you who want to learn more about using a dual-IDA modded BIOS image, visit dual-IDA modded BIOS for HDX9000/87x0/85x0/6x10/27x0p/25x0p.

This thread can also be used to talk about "optimizing" BIOS images -- of course, at your own risk.

IMPORTANT: A CRITICAL BIOS UPDATE has been released for the 2740p.

The BIOS package includes several methods for updating the BIOS version:

• Use the HPQFlash Utility to update the BIOS directly in a Microsoft Windows Operating System environment.
• Create a bootable USB Key to update the system BIOS.
• Use System Software Manager (SSM) to update the system BIOS on PCs in a network.

ENHANCEMENTS:

• Provides improved security for the BIOS flashing process.
• Provides the Secure Erase option.

NOTE: After this BIOS update has been installed, previous BIOS versions can no longer be installed.

• Fixes an issue where a warning message that suggests connecting a SMART AC adapter is incorrectly displayed when plugging in the notebook AC adapter.

FIXES:

• Fixes an issue where the message, "A System BIOS Recovery has occurred," is not displayed when the system reboots after recovering from a crisis.
• Fixes an intermittent issue where the system displays a CMOS Reset (502) message after the user presses Home + the Power Button to reboot the system.

Wait a minute. The latest 2730p BIOS is nothing more than a means to keep people from flashing modified BIOS versions, with no actual improvements?

Screw that...I'm sticking to F.0F until a similarly modified F.10 shows up so I don't have to put up with that annoying message every time I plug in the AC adapter and leave notifications on for checking volume and brightness levels.

ENHANCEMENTS:

• Provides support for a new Wireless WAN module.

FIXES:

• Fixes an intermittent issue where the system displays the message, "ME is in Recovery State." This issue occurs after manually loading the default setup settings or resetting the BIOS Security to the factory default settings in the BIOS setup (F10).
• Fixes an issue where the BIOS setup (F10) menu does not show the Smart Card Power Options after the system is restarted.
• Fixes an issue where disabling the modem in the BIOS setup (F10) causes the system to power on (boot) slowly.
