Default HP TX2500 cpu upgrade

hi, this is my first post in this excelent forum, I currently own an hp tx2500 with AMD turion X2 64 bit (RM-70), and my question is, is it worth to upgrade the cpu tp ultra dual core 2.3? or if i increased the ram itt would be better (ram=2gb) running on windows vista

Is it worth it in terms of performance? No, probably not.

You would probably be better served upgrading to 4gb of RAM and waiting until SSDs drop in price.

I would recommend to swap CPU after the price drop to an acceptable level.

Z-87 looks very attractive to me since it has higher HT values.

I currently use my tx2525ca(RM-70) to play left 4 dead and killing floor

Bought an OCZ Vertex 60Gb SSD.

World of difference. Boot time Vista < 1min (to settled desktop).

With windows 7, boot time is ~30secs.

Applications "blink" up.

CPU is ZM-80 (2.1ghz) undervolted using PumaStateCtrl. System runs cool and quiet.

Not sure this will work. Likely won't since there's no BIOS support for that CPU.

But nothing beats a failure like a try.

Even so the Higher HT speed won't make a material difference.
