Default Heat problems with ultraslim battery for HP 2710p tablet?

I just ordered an ultraslim battery but made a realization. There are a couple of vents on the bottom of the 2710p tablet that the ultraslim battery will cover up. Has anyone had any experience with this additional battery? Since it covers up the vents, does the notebook run more hotter internally or at the bottom?

Also is it possible to use just the ultraslim battery without the original battery installed?

I have not noticed any heat issues when the slice battery was connected. I tested it and didn't even notice a temperature increase.

And AFAIK yes RE: using just the slice battery, but I fail to see the point on that one....

Thanks kpvic. The bottom of my 2710p runs a bit hot with the regular battery, does the slice battery seem as hot to you? Also is the bottom of the slice battery rubber like the bottom of the notebook?

Regarding the other question, it was merely out of curiosity in case I drained out the main one and had the fully charged slice battery sitting around. (apparently the slice weighs a lb and I'm already used to holding just the notebook)

It sort of does have a rubbery grip to it. I find it helps give the tablet more grip on desks, which is welcomed. And no, the slice seems almost ice cold for me.

Is the slice battery's inner surface made of some metal that dissipates the heat from the bottom of the tablet when the tablet gets hot?

I'm just a bit confused since the bottom runs hot, and if the tablet vents are blocked, where does the heat go? Does it get trapped inside the notebook because it doesn't get fanned out since the slice battery is covering the ventillation areas

Can someone explain this please?

funny thing, i never even thought of heat b/c i found it hard for my 2730p to become hot. I flipped it and saw the vents/fans, then took a look at the slice battery to see it actually has an indentation on the right hand side allowing air to go in.

then the fan will blow out air from the left side, sucking air from the "open" vent allowin airflow.

Nice.

I noticed yesterday while playing a video and doing light sketching, the temperature (according to battstat) jumped to 47 degrees! The bottom (slice battery) felt very hot, and it was the first time I noticed the 2710p this hot before. Does anyone know if it's normal for the tablet to get this warm while multitasking? Is 47 degrees even safe for the tablet to operate?

47 degrees? hmm, that doesn't sound like a problem for concern, especially with laptops.

Just take a look at the tx1000 line. xD

But with the slice battery, it does cut down a bit on ventilation, but that amount of heat shouldn't be a concern...

Unless you have it on your lap. But just curious, what are the specs on your 2710p?

(More work the comp has to do, the more heat. Not high spec = more heat)

The specs I have is 2GB of ram and a 1.33ghz u7700 cpu. I was just running media player classic while sketching. The 47 degrees is celsius I beleive. (whatever unit battstat measures in). It definitely felt scorching hot. I did a check and found that the unit operates at a max at 95 F (approx 35C). Since mine was running at 47C should I be concerned? Can someone measure their temps while multitasking and post numbers or heat issues please?
