Default Work around for screen rotation 2710p/2730p found

The 27xxp series has been known to be unable to rotate all 4 ways when on battery.

A workaround for this was posted by C-141XLer @ gottabe mobile
http://www.gottabemobile.com/forum/f...?TID=7399&PN=2

Here are the steps I took to get it working
1. Stop igfxpers.exe (Persistence) from starting up on windows load, by unchecking it to start in a startup modifier. I used Glary Utilities but the simple tool Autoruns should do it. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb963902.aspx
2. stop the igfxpers.exe process in task manager, this is so you don't have to restart. It should not start again if you did step 1 right.
3. Now you can rotate all 4 directions using the mobility center(search vista apps), Still blocked from using the intel app or button for all rotations.
4. To make it easier to rotate install the app called irotate, this will allow you to change it easily from the system tray. http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/irotate.shtm

That does the trick for me, let me know how it works.

Via Windows mobility center i could rotate to all 4 directions automatically in Windows 7 build 7000. This works fine for me, my only regret is that the side button doesn't do all 4 rotations.

BTW, talking about on battery here.

You must not of had the igfxpers.exe process installed, is it still affecting the driver and button? Are you able to install the official intel mobile 4 driver, it is blocked on vista.

Try irotate if you want something easier than the mobility center.

I don't have my tablet on me ATM, i can check to see if the process is installed. Everything works as it should, i might add.

Thank you ScubaX! That was an annoying limitation now I can watch videos on the go and use other apps requiring landscape in tablet mode without having the hinge part to deal with in my lap, If I were left handed this would be a Godsend!

I have stopped igfxpers.exe (Persistence) from starting up on windows load and in task manger, but it doesn't work on my 2710p.
I still can rotate only two directions when on battery in windows mobility center or use rotate button .
I am using vista chinese edition.the BIOS version is F.14
Does anyone have the same problem on 2710p?

And I may ask kpvic ,What dirvers did you install on Windows 7?Does Windows 7 works properly on 2710p?
