I got mine yesterday, and love it! As far as programmable buttons go this has few options. I couldn't find where I could program the 2 esc and rotate buttons, the jog wheel can be programed for up and down. As far as the battery goes this is one of the best, I was getting over 4 hours on mixed power mode, on powersaving it should offer up to 6 hours. Love how nice the screen is to write on(screen looks very close to the glass eliminating paralax )and how solid the case is. My only grips so far is on battery power it only has 2 screen rotation positions, and the speaker is on the bottom and a bit weak.

There is a really good deal ($1200) for the tablet I got and came with a hp cdrw/dvd drive that is powered by the pc. This is the same seller I got mine from and had no problems, these tablets were used about a month for a window display, are in like new condition, and have a recently starting 3 year warrenty! If your looking to buy you can snap on up for $1200! Would cost around $2200 on HP.

I just received my 2730 yesterday, too. I ordered directly through HP while they were offering a 21% discount on CTO purchases. Now, my only previous experience with a TPC is when I briefly owned a Dell XT2; however, I have longed for a TPC for a long time.

As the previous poster stated, you are limited regarding programmable buttons.

The machine has awesome battery life. When the primary battery and slice battery are attached, I showed as much as 11 hours available (low brightness setting, wifi on). I have yet to have a real rugged day of usage.

The screen looks good. I did order the outdoor view, anti-glare screen. Again, I have yet to have sufficient usage to make a fully determination. In door usage in good, fair, and poor lighting is very good. The "night light" is such a nifty feature.

Weight is great. Even with the slice, the carry weight is manageable. I cannot speak on extended usage yet.

    GOOD LUCK

    what a deal !
So only 2 orientations uh ? I'm sure there is a way to unlock that, look on th efujitsu section, it has to do with the manufacturer locking intel functions.
As for programming buttons, what's the verdict, it seems weird the other buttons can't be programmed ...

There are 4 orientations. You can access them with the alt + arrow keys. You have to program the keys to orient through all 4 using the button.

I know this isn't what the previous poster meant, but in tablet mode you can use a utility called Modlock to access modifier keys on screen, without using the TIP or an on-screen keyboard.

    Hi MLML,

Sorry, I'm unable to answer your Intel Turbo Memory question for certain...but most likely you can depending on whether or not there's an open slot for it. But, my guess is no, if memory serves me correctly...HP decided that for some (if not all) models to not include a TurboMemory option. Still, there may be the possibility of some empty slot somewhere if it isn't already used up by, say, a WWAN or Bluetooth card.

As for finding the 2730p on HP's website, it's listed under Small/Medium Business (or anything other than Home/Home office). Anyways, here's the direct link to the 2730p product page and its models.

Its probably the 2710p line that has been discontinued as the 2730p line was just introduced in Q3 2008.

With the 2730p you do have the ReadyBoost option which I believe is subset of Intel Turbo Memory. ReadyBoost allows for USB or Flash drives to be used as additional memory cache, too.

Trust me, you will be very satisfied with purchasing a 2730p!!!
