With the 2730p you do have the ReadyBoost option which I believe is subset of Intel Turbo Memory. ReadyBoost allows for USB or Flash drives to be used as additional memory cache, too.
I think ReadyBoost is part of the Vista operating system. Install max RAM in your 2730p and you won't need it and it will be much faster. My experience of ReadyBoost on a TC4400 was not good. Never used it on my 2710p with 4gb RAM.

Trust me, you will be very satisfied with purchasing a 2730p!!!

I just ordered a transcend 16gb sdhc card for mine off amazon! Plan on using 4gb for readyboost and the rest for backup. Any vista pc should support readyboost.

I finally got my 2730P...Everything looks great except two questions:

    1. The battery life : I read other people's reports, they all said the battery
life is great , can be used for 6 to 6.5 hours but the longest time I have
in my 2730p is only 4.5hrs even I set up it in the power saver mode.

What about your 2730P? How long the batter can be ?

    2. It is "Hot" : One of the reason I select this model is the temperature.
My old laptop is Asus A3A and in the winter, it is so perfect to be used as
a heating pad. But now, My 2730p is almost as hot as my old "heating
pad"... Is it supposed to be so "Hot" ?

Shall I send my New 2730p back to HP to let them check ?

    Thanks!

    1. Battery life will be closer to that when max power savings is used, the power saver mode is no where near max savings, it only clocks the processor to half and brightness a little less than half. Also without bluetooth and wifi enabled. You can modify the power saver to set the brightness and cpu to the minimum, this will clock it to 800mhz. I still don't think this will give 6 hours maybe up to 5, perhaps this only applies to the 1.2 ghz processor.

    2. I have used this at full settings all day and still not have it be hot, it gets very warm but not hot, the rubberized bottom makes it not bother me as much as my old r15's solid plastic would. Perhaps if application that maxes out the system it used I could see it getting hot.
