    Congrats

Regarding the ClearType Rotator, Sorry I can't comment anything since I've never used that software before.

I have a few important questions.

One- When my tablet boots, and Windows first starts up, i keep getting the security warning prompt if i would like to allow a few programs to run from Intel Corporation.

It is the prompt that is described in step # 6 in Grimnir's directions.

It happens on EVERY start up, despite the fact that i UNcheck the "ask this everytime" box.

    It is VERY annoying.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening EVERY time i boot up or restart my tablet.

Two- I still see a Fujitsu Driver Update icon on my icon tray on the bottom right of my screen.

Does this involve the Fujitsu drivers that i had just deleted and replaced with the Intel drivers?

    Should i run the update?

What is the deal with that?

Three- My tablet seems to be running a little slower, and doing some benchmarking and seems like it is running more processes and running much louder for some reason then it did prior to the deleting of the Fujitsu driver and installing the Intel driver.

Four- If i want to revert everything to before i did all of this, how do i do that? I made a system restore point. How do i revert to it? And will that erase all of the changes like they never happened, and go to the way it was before?

Sorry to hear you came to those trouble

I'll try to give my best answers, sorry If it couldn't get you anywhere.

#1 I wonder where did those security warnings come from? Windows Defender? If the mesage keep popping-put eventhough you've already unchecked the confirmation, the problem is actually in the security app itself IMO, you may try to see the application settings. (For me, I'd just remove it manually via msconfig or other utilities.)

#2 From own experience, Fujitsu UpdateNavi is one of default auto-startup program you'll find on new T5010. It stays on System Tray and checks for update periodically, Its presence in system trays doesn't necessarily mean it has found any update, unless it told you otherwise by means of any notification. Before you do any update you should be able see what driver(s)/program(s) is going to be updated, If Updatenavi told you to update the video driver, most likely that caused by the recent video driver change. *Generally*, it is recommended to update your hardware driver to the latest version.

#3 Huh? that's strange, is anyone here experiencing the same problem?
If you believe the cause is the recent driver change, reverting your system might be a good idea.

#4 System Restore is located under Start->Accesories->System Tools (or just type 'system restore' in start menu).
Yes, the original driver should get restored.

Note: All applications, settings and system changes made/installed subsequent to the creation of the checkpoint will also be reverted by system restore.

Your documents (music, picture, downloads, etc) Will not get affected.

    Good luck

    Hey, RazzNuts.

So you think the prompts if i would like to allow a few programs to run from Intel Corporation has something to do with Windows Defender?

Is Windows Defender a program i can turn off?

Is it recommended to keep it running?

If i turn it off, will i be more vulnerable to viruses?

    What do you recommend?

I could do the system restore, but i enjoy the luxury of Secondary Landscape.

Thanks again for your help, i really appreciate it.

    Hi GFX,

Nvm, glad if I can help,

It would be nice if you can post screenshot of the security prompt. Snipping tool actually will do quite a nice job But if you saw a gray fortress wall icon, that's definitely Windows Defender.

Windows Defender is a integrated Anti-Spyware (not virus ) program from Microsoft that is included in Vista, see here and here.

Yes, you can turn off Windows Defender
However, if you're not running any other Anti-Spyware program, I think it is a bad idea to turn it off. It is supposed to protect you from Spyware infection. (You can always find another Anti-Spyware which has higher detection rate, btw Windows Defender is quite.. standard IMO.)

Windows Defender is configurable, and you can configure it to not scan new start-up application. But It'll not only stop asking you about Intel start-up application, but also possibly a new malware. So I'd not recommend to turn this feature off, either.

Read here to configure the start-up application
You can make Intel start-up application classified as 'permitted'.

Actually I'm still concerned with the #3 issue, ??? I wonder if anyone have experience the same issue.

    Thanks, RzzNuts.

The #3 issue, i could just be paranoid.

But for some reason it feels like the boot up time became longer and the loudness could be my cooling pad fan, but i am not too sure.

Tell the truth, i cant remember if it ran as loudly before the Intel driver thing.

Im not sure why it would have an effect?

I am thinking of just doing system restore and then just sticking with the registry changes to unlock the Secondary Landscape.

Another small thing i noticed is: When i do Fn+F6 or F7 to adjust brightness, the green indicator does not move like it used to, but the screen does get dimmer and brighter... which is odd.

    Here are the prompts.

    There are three of them.

I always UNcheck the 'always ask' box. But it still comes up when Windows starts.

    1st prompt:

    2nd prompt:

    3rd prompt:

Ah that' not Windows Defender. It just Windows UAC built-in security.

Googled a bit and found this

There are several ways to handle that annoying prompts,

(it seems to be generic issue for Intel driver).

So i decided to do system restore this morning.

And everything is running much smoother.

I decided to just do the registry edit after restore was finished. I will check how well the Secondary Landscape works now, after i receive my new screen protector, hopefully tomorrow.

Thanks for all of your help, i really appreciate it.

I will update probably tomorrow night.

Got my Fujitsu Lifebook T5010 in April and Secondary Landscape was locked out. I followed Grimnir's instructions (option B) and it worked great!

I still have a major problem with the tablet. I use it for teaching, and I'd like to use Secondary Landscape on the tablet while I'm hooked up to a projector. However, when I switch the tablet to Secondary Landscape, it also changes the projector to Secondary Landscape (i.e., upside down). There appear to be no options for Independent Rotation when I am mirroring my desktop on the two "monitors."

I can do Independent Rotation if I use extended desktop, but I really need to clone my tablet on the projector. I know that some version of the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator supports Independent Rotation because my old IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad X61 allowed it. The Thinkpad used the Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (version 7.14.10.1437), while my Fujitsu uses the Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (version 7.15.10.1829). Both tablets have Windows Vista Business.

Can someone help me out??? Is Independent Rotation just not allowed in this version of the Intel graphics driver? Or did Fujitsu disable this feature like they did the Secondary Landscape ???
