T4220 Vs. T2010
hi i have bought T4220 and i don't understand why people buy or... talk more about T2010 ... i mean i see lot more post..
so i did check and T2010 got low specs but nice bad ass design.. still i don't see how T2010 is better than T4220.
i mean price are same and T4220 is better in specs than T2010 so whats the major diff. or is it just all about style like ipod
please someone clear this for me. Thanks in advance

Re: T4220 Vs. T2010
Unless you desperately need the T2010's incredible battery life, T4220 is the machine for you.

Re: T4220 Vs. T2010
There is more to the T2010 than just the battery life. First off it can be obtained a couple hundred dollars cheaper if you are looking at the base price. The T2010 is also significantly lighter. The difference in weight is not even one pound which translates to nothing in your bag, but in tablet mode it makes a world of a difference when you're holding it. The T2010 runs much cooler because of the ULV processor, in my case it never gets hot to the touch like the T4220. The screen is better imo than the T4220. T4220 has an optional SXGA+ resolution but it does not have wide viewing angles. The T2010 has WXGA with LED backlight which puts it among the brightest screens, the pixel size is just right and it also has wide viewing angles.

Re: T4220 Vs. T2010
- ULV CPU --> Less heat, less power consumption and still fast enough for everything (web browsing, coding, drawing, writing, gaming, ... everything is possible)
- Very bright and CLEAR screen
- LED backlit screen
- lightweight and more ergonomic (widescreen)
(- no senseless optical drive
If you need one, get an external (port replicator or USB) but who needs an optical drive in the tablet nowadays? We have enough hard disk space to copy all the CDs or DVDs as an image on the hdd and for everything else is the faster and easier to handle USB stick available)
- Widescreen with an almost perfect screen resolution WXGA, not a too high or too low screen resolution like XGA or SXGA.
- Wide viewing angles display
- IEEE 1394a port
- better design
- longer battery life
(- touchstick, which is more comfortable to use. I loved touchpads and hated touchsticks, but after a short use of the touchstick on the T2010, I prefer it, because it is easier to use, more fail-safe and has the ideal position. It's even possbile to easily play ego shooters or third person games with it, which isn't so nice to do with a touchpad)
The only advantage, the 4220 has, is the faster processor. But this is insignificant because in real use, you don't note the less/more power, except you render movies or edit very high quality images.

Re: T4220 Vs. T2010
I chose the 4220 for:
SXGA screen which is still among the best of all tablets despite not having LED backlighting and crazy wide viewing angles.
Optical drive, yes I still use it, and I also had the modular bay battery so I could boost battery life when I didn't need it.
Powerful CPU, because I use my machines in content creation and video editing.
I think the 2010 is a better solution for different user demands, mainly being portability, light weight and longer battery life. I needed the integrated optical drive and higher resolution more, but if I didn't I probably would have waited for the 2010.

Re: T4220 Vs. T2010
Honestly, I picked the T2010 for the weight, battery life, and touchstick. I considered the T4220, but those three items were top of the list for me and the rest of the specifications on the T2010 are nothing to laugh at. Death before a touchpad mouse for me. Everything else was gravy.

Re: T4220 Vs. T2010
i still don't know why someone would want low Speed of CPU while you can get over 2.0. i think 2010 is just nice looking product yet its like blonds lolz. all look no brain.. or less .. 4220 still is best..

Re: T4220 Vs. T2010
Maxout, that is an insult to the T2010 users out there, such as myself. I have the slowest processor for the T2010 and it is just as fast, if not faster, than my old HP zd7000 with a 3Ghz Pentium w/ HT. Yes the T2010 is a beauty of a tablet, but on the inside, it's just as pretty. So be careful how you generalize.

Re: T4220 Vs. T2010
maxout, I am not going to flame you, but you are showing that you have no idea what you are talking about by equating processor speed = absolute processing capability.
I run Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3, Protools LE 7.4, Reason 3 and Cubase SX 3 without a hitch on Vista with Aero on a T2010. I did the smart thing and upgraded to 4gb RAM. A dual core 1.2gHz processor with a bunch of RAM is quite capable, even on a hog OS like Vista.
Is it as fast as my desktop, with a quad-core 2.4gHz, 4gb RAM, and a nvidia 8600GT? Nope, but that's why I have a desktop. If I wanted a desktop replacement, I would not be looking at either the T2010 or T4220.Fujitsu T2010 | 1.2gHz | 4gb RAM | 80gb hard drive | Vista Business

Re: T4220 Vs. T2010
Best configuration is quite relative. For me this would be single core ULV, 1.0 GHz. This has best performance per Watt allover. Then I would choose to have no disk and no fan. 8GB Flash would be sufficient as I can always access fieleservers wirelessly. I would run this thing under Xubuntu. So 512 MB Ram would be plenty. This could be sub 1kg and last 10+ hours.
