i would like to know any user have experience comparing different chinese input method on XP, the TIP, the on-screen keyboard by Microsoft office,
and... any other method that can support full screen writing ??
I tried the NJ star but detection was poor,

Re: comparison on different input method ??
ritePen from EverNote does Write Anywhere. Works nicely. But recognition accuracy is slighly inferior to the Vista TIP. And there's also Calligrapher from PhadWare which I did not try (does not support Vista yet).
I have no idea whether they work for Chinese though.

Re: comparison on different input method ??
if its windows xp tablet edition 2005, there's that downloadable handwriting one.. it won't recognise my name right but it does okay with complex looking characters..and i found office 2003 more agreeable since 2007 needs vista for there to be recognition

Re: comparison on different input method ??
on XP you will get much improved input with ritePen. Try that. Highly recommended.
Did you check out Calligrapher? I use it on my PDA and it is very good there. Very nice edit features. Give us a feedback how it works out for you.
The best and fastest Onscreen Keyboard methods I know of are Inscribe (use this with a Fitaly layout), SHARK, and Alphatap. The latter two are up to the keyboards speed if you train well (50-70 wpm). But be prepared for a steep learning curve.
MeassagEase is nice but not fast. Speedscript is also an option but currently only beta.
And there is another seemingly very well working option: Define Graffiti (or whatever) gestures in StrokeIt. This is also very fast and convenient - and should work on Chinese if you spend a bit time to adopt it. I am currently testing that more in depth and will report later.
Would like to invite you to my "Input Speed Contest" to give us some feedback of you speed experiences:

Re: comparison on different input method ??
thx pibach for the suggestion
SHARK / alphatap, hmm, if i go for a virtual keyboard, i will stick to inscribe, haha
and for Strokeit, there is only Chinese layout, but not support writing Chinese,
so far i only know a few softwares w/ a writing pad for Chinese input,
but not supporting to write on our tablet screen [i've asked the company already]
so i think i need to keep using the XP TIP for chinese
and thx again, ritePen is fascinating !! it works very well on my P1610 passive touch screen !!
