Default No Windows XP downgrade CD?

    Hi folks,

I just got my P1610! It's charging at the moment and I can't wait to get my hands on it as soon as it's done.

I bought it today (5th, Oct, 2007) in Australia, the baby is shipped from Singapore or Japan (not sure, the local shop ordered it for me from the main distributor or something).

Now, I heard that Fujitsu includes a Windows XP CD for Vista Business packages, but I don't see it in mine. I can only see a Vista Business recovery disk.

Even though I probably will stick with Vista, I still want a Windows XP downgrade option just in case Vista stuff up (which is not unlikely).

Will a normal Windows XP installation work? Or do I have to get my hands on a copy of the XP recovery disk?

    Thanks!

A normal xp cd would work cuz I've heard about people using normal vista cds instead of the recovery ones. You need to find the drivers for your tablet, though it should be fairly easy. Hope you have fun with your p1610!

If you wish to keep the Tablet PC functionality (e.g. TIP - Tablet Input Panel, Windows Journal) you'll need Windows XP Tablet PC Edition media. There are instructions on the forums (search for one of Shogmaster's replies), however, on how to get Tablet PC functionality from Windows XP Media Center Edition media. Your mileage may vary with these instructions.

However, since the P1610 is a touchscreen (passive digitizer) Tablet PC a regular Windows XP installation disk will do just fine, you most likely will need to install drivers for the touchscreen to be recognized by the OS and recognize that you are touching the screen to open, say, the Start menu.
