EP121 excessive heat/temperature, what is your EP121 temperature?
I have seen many posts where users say their fans are running on full blast. What I am interested to know is their EP121 temperatures because I am concerned my EP121 is running at quite high temp. Please post your temperatures here:
Average temperature: 65 Celsius - 76 Celsius
Using a utility like RealTemp Download Real Temp 3.70 | techPowerUp, mine http://i.imgur.com/byjaz.png
Weather in your area: 24 Celsius
you can get it from here "https://encrypted.google.com/#hl=en&q=weather+YOURCITY"
Fan Noise level: Normal, rarely runs full blast
I have already removed the dust on the blades and elsewhere using vacuum cleaner. So this is my situation. The device gets hot enough, especially the aluminum rims. I can hardly hold the device uncovered for a few minutes until my hands get sweaty. If I keep it under the cover, the EP's white plastic back gets really hot.
NOTE: The above temperatures are after moddig bios recently with the prochot disabled [BIOS] EP121AS 501 [Modding Thread]. With the earlier bios the temps where around 60-69 Celsius. I hoped the modding might trigger the fans to full blast (Well I really need to measure it in terms of some quantifiable value to share with you, any ideas?).
IMP NOTE: So, now I have reverted back to default BIOS 501 ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Eee Slate EP121 but still the temps are high with processor running at 1300 MHz level.
Is there anything I can try adjusting myself? Warranty's expired.

65-76 celcius is very hot to touch..mine is around 42 - 52 degree highest. regardless of bios. Reading is from Throttlestop.
just used realtemp on battery mode 42C
try adjust your hd graphic mode..and power plan. from software side..hardware..may be something shorted, disturbed inside when you opened the cover.Last edited by CF77; 03-04-2012 at 12:49 PM.

Re: EP121 excessive heat/temperature, what is your EP121 temperature?
Thanks for the power plan options to look into.
I played a video on youtube, and I observed that:
Power Saver: 700-800 Mhz
Balanced: 1200-1300 Mhz
I have tested it like 4-5 times and the values stick inside those ranges for respective plans.
In the Intel HD settings, I saw only 3d Settings affecting the CPU, so I set it to ''Performance' (other one was 'Quality').
Couldn't notice diff in temps, because I was changing the plans quickly. So now, the power saver plan is like what I used to have before with old bios's throttled mode.
I guess I will have to keep running in Power Saver for now, until I find any other issue(if any) which could be looked into.
