What's going on?
Hello again!~
I've noticed as I'm drawing in Corel Painter 11 that the cursor will jump to a random spot and back to the pen in a split second, often causing little spikes in my drawing. It never used to do this, and it only happens when I draw with short, sketchy strokes as opposed to a long solid line. I know it sounds like a "palming" issue, but I assure you, touch is off and always stays off. It also only happens in Corel Painter 11: ArtRage is perfect, the ink tool in Word works well, and I tried making the cursor jump on the desktop or with Chrome open and still nothing.
I've tried recalibrating the pen on numerous occasions, restarts beyond count, and updating frequently. I'd rather not restore to a restore point or open the back of the tablet unless truly necessary.
Is this faulty software, a "slow pen refresh rate" problem, phantom clicking, a calibration error, or am I going to have to get the screen looked at? I really trust and love this forum, and I'd like to get some input before I spend 120$ on Corel Painter 12 for the Windows 7 compatibility. I've included a screenshot of the "spikes". You can see them around the lips and chin of the drawing.
Ask me if you have any questions.
Tearany
PS: Anything you guys have found successful in lengthening the battery life? 3 hours is a little tricky to work with as I'm sure you know. xD

Re: What's going on?
Do you rest your hand on the screen while you're drawing? That's the only time I run into this problem, like the pen cuts out for a second and goes back to touch.

Re: What's going on?
I do, actually. Is that's what's causing it? Dang, that's the whole reason I disabled the touch, so my hand wouldn't frick my lines up. xD
Does this mean it can't be fixed?Last edited by Tearany; 10-13-2011 at 12:08 AM.

Re: What's going on?
That lines directed to the right bottom of the screen?
If yes, I have the same, but in my case that lines are huge and like with 100% pressure. So I'm using ctr+z often. I think it's "normal"- not perfect technology and switching between pen and touch input...
Maybe win8 have better solutions.
Btw. Use automatic hide of the taskbar...

Re: What's going on?
That problem has been reported before for Painter 11, seems to be a known bug.
Install Service Pack 1 for Painter 11, hopefully that should fix it.
Regards, Myles.

Re: What's going on?
I don't have Painter 11, but from the reviews I've read I think that is a problem/bug with Painter itself. Google for Corel 11 missing stroke/stray dab and see for yourself. It seems this problem also happens to Wacom's drawing tablets (Bamboo, Intuos, etc). There is a service pack update for Painter 11 you can try: Patches and Updates - Patches and Updates
As for Painter 12 the reviews seem to point to it being very slow on 64-bit Windows even when running it on a very fast computer. The majority of the reviews are positive aside from some random crashing issues.
