    Default Keyboard keeps losing Bluetooth?

Is this a BT problem, or is this keyboard broken?

It works great for a while, and goes to sleep / wakes up fine, but occasionally, it will stop working completely. Sometimes, disconnecting and reconnecting it works, and when this doesn't work, a full reboot of Windows, as well as a power cycle of the keyboard, has to be done.

How can I fix this? It's getting quite annoying. Or is the keyboard malfunctioning, so I need to contact ASUS/Newegg for a replacement?

Try going into device manager and under properties, power management, uncheck "allow computer to turn off device to save power". I also did this to every other device to stop the issue with them.

I remember reading about that, but I don't even have the option to check that under HID Keyboard Device (i.e. my BT keyboard). I did uncheck the "allow this device to wake the computer", because I don't want an accidental/stray click of the keyboard to turn on the computer while it's in my bag or something.

    JohnTean,

Do as JackBF said. Do for all of these in Device Manager.

    All HID devices
    Network adapters
    USB controllers

The box "allow this device to wake the computer" allows from sleep mode not a powered off machine.

Try leaving EP121 power off while in bag. It only neds 18 seconds to boot.

I get this exact issue with my keyboard, even after asus worked on it. The only difference now when I power cycle the keyboard, the tablet power cycles the BT adapter

The trick I use when this happens is to select "Turn adapter off" from the taskbar Bluetooth icon. It doesn't actually turn the adapter off when it's in this non-communicative state, but it does reset it and gets the keyboard working again.
