not sure about pen pressure as I do not have the software.

    PAP4 does have pen pressure.

Thank you CF77 and porongo for your replies. I guess I should refine the question a little.

Did anyone ever get Storyboard Pro 2 working on the EP121 with Windows 7.

I've worked my way through the thread from beginning to end and have 707-706 drivers installed but still no pressure sensitivity. Apparently I've done something wrong but can't figure out what. If I had any hair I'd be pulling it out by now.

Toon Boom's usual response is to blame Intel.

    Just curious, you have EP121?
    Win 7 or Win 8CP?

did you do a cclean and auslogics clean virtual devices? registry before install?

what are your devices driver versions?

    should post some capture pics.

    Hi CF77.

The ASUS EP121 belongs to my son who is a storyboard artist. On his last job he was using SketchBook Pro with no problems. I assume because it uses raster graphics. His current project requires Toon Boom StoryBoard Pro 2. He installed it on the EP121 and found that he had no pressure sensitivity so he switched to his Motion LE1600 where StoryBoard works under WinXP with an Intel 915GMS Extreme Graphics controller. However the LE1600 is getting a little "long in the tooth" and he's already had his original LE1600 fail so he currently has no backup machine. Because of deadlines he passed the EP121 over to me to try to find a solution. Your thread is the only information I've found that offers a glimmer of hope.

The EP121 is running Windows 7.
I started with a clean install.
I've worked my way through the thread and have located the most current versions of the drivers.
I've used both registry cleaners and rebooted between driver updates.
Seeing as I've had to update the procedure as I worked my way through the thread I assume I made a mistake somewhere along the line.

I've decided that I'm going to try the process again from a clean install and will make detailed notes of all the steps complete with screen captures over the next few days as time permits. Success or failure notwithstanding, I'll try to post the results up here early next week.

Thank you for all the effort you've put into maintaining this thread.

    Don

Win7,.. then you need to try..

702-21 from ASUS first as your baseline for wintab app.. check for pen pressure..
    if it works then

    update to 707, 706 after.

    G'day CF77,

Thanks to you, it appears that I finally have pressure sensitivity on the EP121 working with both Toon Boom StoryBoard Pro 2 (vector graphics) and Autodesk SketchBook Pro (raster graphics). Not being the artist in the family, my son will be dropping by later today to check out my presumed success.

I have three pages of notes relating to the process but the short form is essentially as you outlined above. The procedure I followed:

    1. Restored EP121 to factory state.
    2. Ran full Windows update - software and hardware.
    3. Cleaned registry with appropriate reboots.
    4. Installed software to be tested.
    5. Registry cleaning and reboots.
    6. Installed 702-21 with registry cleaning and reboots.
    7. Installed 707-4-Mod_Worked with registry cleaning and reboots.
    8. Installed 706-6 with registry cleaning and reboots.
    9. Pressure sensitivity appears to work in both StoryBook Pro 2 and SketchBook Pro.

Once my son tests the pressure sensitivity to see if it is suitable for his requirements, I'll post again.

    Thanks for your assistance.
    Don

    G'day CF77,

Just a quick update. My son had a chance to check out the ASUS EEP121 today and is quite pleased with the pressure sensitivity in the two main programs he requires for his work: Toon Boo StoryBoard Pro 2 and Autodesk SketchBook Pro. Once he finishes the storyboard he's currently working on he'll be switching back to the ASUS EP121 from the Motion LE 1600.

Sorry to ask this again, but could we get a full step by step recap on the first page, for the Ep121+win7 only ?

    G'day CF77 and Kompleet,

I purchased another ASUS EP121 on eBay and finally got around to documenting the procedure for getting pressure sensitivity with Toon Boom StoryBoard Pro. The short version of the procedure is as I outlined in Post #358. The extended version with links to all the appropriate files is in a pdf file at http://www.divshare.com/direct/18038740-d2d.pdf.

The interesting thing is that after I took the new "factory fresh" Slate and did a Windows Update on 2012-05-30 (excluding SP1), I had a machine with pressure sensitivity that worked with the Toon Boom software. However, in case not everyone was successful with this I continued with the installation of the drivers discussed in this thread. On completion of the process I had pressure sensitivity functioning again with the vector-based StoryBoard Pro.

Hope the steps documented in the pdf file help ASUS EP121 users get their systems functioning properly.

    Don

Note: I uploaded a modified pdf file at 6:40am on Friday, June 1. If you downloaded the file prior to that time, you should download it again to get the most current version.
