    Here are some more pictures of inside the EP121. Please remember I am not a photographer, but I did my best. I am not removing any tape or foil to get better pictures.

    Thank you for the look inside the EP121. I am glad to see the SSD is upgradable. Unlike my macbook air with the SSD chips fused to logic board booo.

    Thank you for photos.

    Could you post another photos in detailed?
    I want to know about vacant space inside of EP121.

    I have agony for 3G(mobile) modem.
    EP121 doesn't have 3G modem option.
    So, I consider modifying EP121 for equip 3G USB modem into EP121.
    The modem demensions is 2" x 0.7" x 0.1".

    Sorry, but I don't think I'll be cracking it open for a while

    I'm using a Pantech UML 290 USB Verizon 4G LTE modem, a little bulky but the performance is astounding, it's practically as fast as my Time Warner Road Runner with Turbo Boost down and faster up, in fact LTE can be many times faster up. The only problem with it is the cost. $50 a month for 5GB and $80 a month for 10GB with overages costing $10 per GB, not exactly cheap.

    The SSD in the EP121 is a mSATA PCI-E mini card type, not a 1.8" MSATA. So it won't just drop in.

    @justdavid.

    Thanks so much for the detailed pics.

    Can you post a pic of the outside (no need to open it up), and draw red arrow over it showing where to insert knife/spudger tool and which direction to push to open it up?

    Thanks

    I started along the edge opposite the USB ports. I sat at my desk with the slate standing in my lap with the screen facing and leaning against the desk. Then slid my knife edge pointed down in between the aluminum ring and the plastic, lowering the knife in under the aluminum ring. Once I had a bit of an opening, I could see tabs along the edge of the plastic case. Gently pry the case out a small bit and I used my thumbnail to hold that opening and worked the knife toward the corner. Removed my thumbnail holding the gap open an worked to the opposite corner, then worked down the long sides.

    Do not let the plastic back fall away from the slate as there is a copper ribbon connecting to the RF shielding on the plastic back. Then laid the slate face down on a towel an slowly lifted the back until I could determine which way to flip the back over. Again, be carefull not to pull too much on the copper ribbon. This ribbon is on the USB port end and you can see it in the picture above named SD Card slot. If you look closely at the Battery picture, you can faintly see where I nicked up the aluminum ring a bit.
