Linux on the XT
I'm quite new to linux, but the past few days i tried many different distro but anything wiith the gnome interface, the shell text becomes garbled due to some driver issue.
I've tried ubuntu and joliOS(which is based off of ubuntu 10) but both of them dont have proper wifi drivers....or do they? ( i dont even know, its not as laid out as it is in windows). Fedora on the other hand, had wifi working right out of fresh install, but the garbled text really bothers me.
Its a shame, i really like the gnome interface, i did find a few pages on enabling gnome on ubuntu.
does anyone know a fix to any of these or can at least point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Re: Linux on the XT
I'm sure there are ways to get it working (after searching for a few hours for the right fix), but have you tried Linux Mint yet? I have found it to fit pretty in well on on a Tablet PC and it always seems to run pretty well with good hardware support out of box; there really isn't anything truly special about Linux Mint, and I'm sure you can install the gnome desktop management system to use instead of the KDE one it has.

Re: Linux on the XT
I use Mint on my desktop, but Kubuntu on my TM2. I can't remember why I settled with it, though. Maybe it was because I couldn't get the switchable graphics to work.... If that was the reason, it made no difference as switchable graphics is problematic on Kubuntu too.
Hi! I'm a Tablet PC....and I'm not a goddamn toy.
