    Default Stantum Modified Dell Mini-10

and from the Stantum website -

Interesting idea, something I hope (for the artists out there) will work out cheap and useable.

It uses a passive stylus, won't be good for artists.

Depends on how you view things I suppose, in one of the videos the user uses a paintbrush rather than a stylus to draw with and it picks up the shape.

So I suppose a paintbrush could be viewed as a passive stylus...

If that doesn't make sense - the alternative is to keep using passive / active plastic styluses / styli (whatever the plural is) in your usual tablet and modify the cursor in Photoshop into whatever brush you want.

Me? I like the sound of it - anyhow, I get my grubby little hands / paintbrushes etc to do a trial for my work in February and I can't wait to see its capabilities.

That can be interesting if the screen is very sensitive so that you don't have to press down really hard to make the bristle pressure get picked up.

Still though, it doesn't do much for when you use drawing tools that get darker instead of fatter (mostly) when you press down harder, like a pencil or charcoal.

I guess this is where I could see a dual screen being useful so that you get the best of both worlds.

Um, I don't want to break the company's confidentiality but I have one of these things for a two week evaluation and all I can say so far is "wow!"

It's approx an A5 screen for drawing/painting/writing on but you do sometimes catch yourself checking your finger / brush / stick / stylus to see how much paint is on there - just as you would with a real canvas, pallette and paintbrush. It's VERY convincing.
