Dell XT Video Drivers
Has anyone found drivers for the video card that work well?
I am using the current version that is on the website and at least once a week I get a blue screen, the screen goes totally black or my computer randomly reboots. Each time windows has told me the problem was because of the video driver.
If you are having better experience can you post the version of the driver you are using?
Thanks,
Cody

Re: Dell XT Video Drivers
I'm using 8.10 off of the ATI site, nodded with Mobility Modder. net and haven't had a single BSOD.I also started with a clean install, so you might want to run driver cleaner first.

Re: Dell XT Video Drivers
Yes, I had the same problem. I upgraded with the latest ATI Catalyst drivers and the blue-screen-of-death went away, and it generally feels a lot more stable than before.
The downside is that now it won't automatically flip from portrait to landscape. Any suggestions on this would be helpful...

I am not 100% but I thought one of the dell apps is what makes it auto switch.

Re: Dell XT Video Drivers
We have deployed 100 of these tablets to our high school and middle school faculty and have had about 15% of our users report either BSOD or display freezes when trying to connect to an external display. We are on our 4th video driver and are still having the same issue.
We are running Vista Business with basic apps installed such as MS Office and OneNote.
We are also having Ntrig failures as well.
The problem seems to be centered around Sysprep causing the video drivers to reinstall in the incorrect sequence and the OS becomes unstable, especially the video drivers.
I have never heard of drivers needing to be installed in a specfic/precise order and at this point the issue seems to be a tempermental OS and platform.
So to answer your question whether deploying these machines or your own personal machine- there has yet to be a stable video driver released for this system.
