Asus R1F Tablet Touchscreen Question
Okay, here's a simple question for the friendly Asus R1F users out there.
I've recently acquired an Asus R1F. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate, and now I'm trying to install all of the proper drivers to make the touchscreen work, but I can't tell whether I've installed the right touchscreen driver or not, because I don't have the Asus stylus (it's long lost), and I don't know whether I really need a stylus (I've never actually used this laptop before).
My question is: Is the R1F touchscreen one that allows a user to use fingers rather than a stylus? I know some laptops are like that -- some don't need a stylus, some allow users to draw with fingers -- I've seen them before -- but I just don't know whether this one is supposed to activate with the touch of a finger or with a *special* stylus.
In other words... Must I use a stylus? Or, should I have the ability to draw with my index finger? Should I be able to double-tap the screen, like the touchpad, in order to activate icons/programs?
Thanks for any answers...Last edited by Orion; 10-09-2010 at 03:12 AM.

Re: Asus R1F Tablet Touchscreen Question
Touchscreen? On an R1F? I believe only Lenovo and Toshiba had dual digitizers back when the R1F was around.
Without the penabled stylus you only have a laptop with a screen that flips around.Eugene Leafty
