R1E Windows 7
Anyone running Win7 on the R1E yet? Any significant problems?
Most importantly, do the drivers (especially Wacom and fingerprint reader) all work?

Re: R1E Windows 7
Long story short, you wont know until you try. We don't know if it will work on all models, but i have had overwhelming success with drivers on 10+ computers.
On my 2710p, everything works. Previous users have used models with touchscreens and have got them to work.
EDIT: WACOM, yes. Fingerprint, use the vista version of the software. So far everything that works for your computer under vista will work under windows 7.Computers

mm...I'll try it anyways, so if nobody has done so yet I'll report back my results. Certainly expecting everything to work as they should.

Re: R1E Windows 7
I`ve been trying to get screen rotation working without success. Everything else works great and I really like the refined and improved tablet function.
Windows 7 Beta is *remarkably* stable.
edit: My plan to use hcontrol.exe didn`t help. I`m wondering about the default video driver being a problem. The Windows 7 version is substantially newer than what`s available on support.intel.com
edit2: Well, the problem was the video driver. The most current Vista32 driver on support.intel.com will provide screen rotation. The driver makes everything look more Vista-like. I just hope Intel will introduce a Win7 driver sometime soon.Last edited by alphaswift; 01-10-2009 at 01:23 AM.

Re: R1E Windows 7
32. I have only 3 GB of RAM and no special needs that require 64 bit.

Re: R1E Windows 7
ok, running on Win7 x86 right now, so far:
- Recognized almost everything out of the box. I only had to install the fingerprint driver & software from Asus as well as Wacom's enhancement driver. Didn't bother installing the hotkey drivers.
- I don't use automatic screen rotation much, if at all, so I didn't install intel's graphics driver and stuck with Win7's which apparently has a higher version number. Could still rotate screen with Windows Mobility Center but the button on the frame doesn't work.
- Built in mic doesn't work anymore. (Do you know a fix?) Actually, it does work, the default volume was just set to 0.
- SecureW2 doesn't work anymore. Looking for TTLS client that does work.Last edited by primexx; 01-12-2009 at 02:56 AM.
