off-line wikipedia for eee-note

I have compiled the offline wikipedia reader evopedia for the eeenote.

For testing, do the following:

1. Unzip this file to the external card, and plug the card into enote
2. Start Enote and launch the console.
3. execute cd /mnt/extsdcard
4. execute ./nohup ./evopedia &
5. exit console
6. launch browser
7. goto 127.0.0.1:8080

You can go to the settings and install larger archives from here, but that requires a larger sd card.

the console app does not show anything, tha's ok (it only provides the localhost port).

Have you tried replacing 'localhost' with 127.0.0.1?

Haha, sorry, I was mixing 192 and 127 also. It doesn't work on localhost, but I tried many times 192.0.0.1 (192 usually default of routers).

The console may be waiting for the standard output to come back; I don't know how to 'disown' the job, but that should be fixable.

so does it work now when you exit the console and just click on the browser?

You may have to replace 'localhost' with '127.0.0.1'; that should work (I hope, it worked at least 5 min. ago).

wrt. the console command, one would need 'nohup' but that isn't on the enote. I may have to compile it then.

This evopedia thing is just an experiment. Are there any 10GB+ mini SD cards at all? This would be needed if you want to have the entire wikipedia.

I got it working for a bit but then the browser timed out and now i can't reload the offline pages.
