This evopedia thing is just an experiment. Are there any 10GB+ mini SD cards at all? This would be needed if you want to have the entire wikipedia.

I have now added the nohup command (see original post). Plus I have just puchased a 16GB micro SD card for a reasonable price. So the full wikipedia will be available (to me) offline shortly.

I still can't make it work.
Basically, everything was working and I was searching the wikitionary on my sdcard, but I noticed there was no way to get back to the search bar without pressing the back button on the browser. So I pressed the back button several times, and that is when it stopped working.
I've tried reinstalling it, following the instructions in your first post, but still no success.
When I go into Console and type:
    execute cd /mnt/extsdcard
I see: /bin/sh: execute: not found
    When I type:
    execute ./nohup evopedia &
I see: /bin/sh: execute not found
    [1] + Done(127) execute ./nohup evopedia

    Is this correct?

Some questions to clarrify why it might not work for me:
Are you using the native browser?
Did you unpack the evopedia file to an evopedia folder on your sdcard or to the root of the extsdcard?

I'd really like to get this working and I don't know why it isn't.

no, that's not correct. With 'execute' I meant what you are supposed to type. In this case, just type 'cd /mnt/extsdcard' followed by return into the command line, and then './nohup evopedia &', followed by return.

I am using lightweight2, and evopedia is on the root filesystem.

I hope it works after the corrections.

    Still no go!
When I follow these instructions, the only thing that happens is a file is created on the sdcard called something like 'no.hup'
However, I still can't make the evopedia work on either the Asus explore or Lightweight2.
Which firmware do you have? i'm using the Russian version. Could that somehow influence the result?

Could it be that when I installed evopedia the very first time, something was copied to my internal SD card which needs to be deleted to allow me to reinstall the evopedia file?

    Thanks for the help

hm... that's too bad. Maybe you can check with the command

    netstat -nap

but I am not sure if it works. Is your wifi connected (it should not be)? What do you see in the browser? What gives

    cat /mnt/extsdcard/nohup.out

I will get back to you once I'm back from the office.

note the updated 4. above. The nohup argument needs to be prefixed with './' to indicate the path.

yes, the reason being that enote's network interface has the unusual name eth0.

It should work now, the zip file is updated accordingly.

    Hello,

Does this also work with the (huge) Wikipedia dump? I´ve a 32 Gb micro sd card.

    Thanks,

    Micha
