Hmmmmm... Well, it didn't work either way. I dl'd all 3 files to my desktop and tried double clicking the Title Buttons ahk file. It pulls up Notepad, but there are no extra buttons anywhere. I then changed the file name to reflect the full name, as per your suggestion. I reloaded it, and it did exactly the same as before-- Notepad opens, and there are no extra buttons available.

    Thoughts?

If you right-click on one of the files and select "open with", does it suggest you use AutoHotkey or AutoHotkey_L?

Ah Ok, we need to use AutoHotkey Basic for this to work. You can just go here:

    AutoHotkey Download

Download the Installer for the basic version, and run the previous test again. You can have both Basic and AHK_L on your system, no problem.

Once basic is installed, right-click on the previous files and try open with AutoHtotkey (not AHK_L). It should now work.

I am having a difficult getting this to install. I dl the AHK basic installer. Then I get a error message part way through that it can't write it to the x86 program files. I can retry, but it never works. I can abort but it wont install. I can ignore it, and it then seems to go through a write process for a number of files, but then I can't seem to find it if I go to program files (x86)/Autohotkey, which is where it's supposed to be. If I try to open up the script and browse to there, I only find the AHK_L app. I tried the zip file as well, but it didn't do anything as well.

Any more ideas? I'm not sure why it's not working.

    Hum...

What if you install it here instead:
    C:\Program Files\AutoHotkey\

Magical and mysterious, but it works. I now get a series of 5 buttons on the Notepad titlebar. Sexy buttons? No, they overlap the existing ones, but they're there. So success!

    Cool!

    Well, I've also learned!

Was there any reason you were using AutoHotkey_L apart from that's the one that you installed at some point? AutoHotkey_L is the newer variant and it allows you to do things that Basic can't. And the reverse is true as we just saw. So unless you actually really need to use AHK_L, I think it would be better if you want ti use the toolbar to go in the "open with" right-click menu, choose "Choose default program" and set it to AHK Basic.

    One last question about this:

Do you see the button when only #include Dock.ahk is written or do you have to write the complete path?

My memory re: why I'm using AHK_L was that you suggested I should dl it back when we started working on this last month. That, or it was just a fluke that I picked it. I have no particular tie to it. Can I run everything else you've been building on it? Or do I need two versions to run at the same time?

Re: running the script did the buttons-- I tested both versions with AHK basic, and I needed to have the full file path included for it to work.

    What's next?
