It has an atom processor so I would stay away from it like the plague. I purchased the AOD150 for my wife and the specs are about the same as this computer (slightly smaller screen on the 150, I had installed more RAM) and it is slow enough to drive you nuts while putting out more heat (and there isn't a thing you can do about it. Even installing a fast SSD in the thing, a TorqX drive, made no difference in performance at all). IMHO you are really better off purchasing a previous generation ultraportable with a dual core processor. I ended up selling the 150 and got the wife a new in box, albeit older design Gateway with a dual core u7600 processor which runs circles around the Acer... for about the same price (Link to same item from the seller I purchased from). Hell, you could get a core solo laptop which would still be faster than the Aspire One for even less money.

If you have more questions you should probably go to our sister site, Notebookreview.com and they will be able to give you more detailed advice.

thank u for giving me additional info ... wouldnt the dual core use allot more battery power though.. i guess u have to compromise... battery power or speed...

with the 6 cell this device is said to get almost 9 hours.. thats amazing
what do u get approx with yours...

i have a tablet with 6 cell dual core 12" screen and i get about 2 1/2 hours... sucks

My wife's seems to get about 4 hours on a charge which for her was well worth the increase in processing power.

Checkout the the acer 1410(or 1810), the cheapest one u can get is the best pick aslong as it has the 5600mAh battery instead of the 4400mAh, it blows netbooks out of the sky, the cheapest one with windows 7 should be the one with the dualcore celeron su2300 (1.2ghz) is at around 399$ i think , and all of em reach over 8 hrs of battery life.
