Re: Gateway C-140X Owners Lounge
Hey everybody,
New to this site and to tablet pc's. Just bought a C-140X which I was told to receive around the 25th. I'm stoked but a little nervous about the ability to play newly released games running decent settings. I have read various post about gaming on tablets but did not find satisfaction. I got the 2.0processor, with the Chassis w/ 128MB graphics card and 2 gigs of ram. Will I be able to play 3d games like doom3 at no less than 30fps?
Sorry if this has been answered before but I couldn't find it.
I don't know if I can wait that long!!! I'm counting the minutes!!! I've never used a tablet, is there any cool software you guys can recommend that uses the extra interactivity? Any tips for a first timer? Pretty much whatever you wanna write
Thanks

Re: Gateway C-140X Owners Lounge
Hi,
Ordered a C-140X on July 2nd to take advantage of the 200 dollars rebate, that order had an ETA of July 25th. That order was cancelled because I was using an older gateway, and the company that issued it no longer worked with gateway. It took me nearly an hour and three tech operators to finally get my order and rebate reinstated. My new order is now scheduled for a July 24th delivery, however, the last person to help me made it sound like the order may actually be here ahead of schedule since he told me I should pay attention to the order status since it may get moved up.
This will be my first tablet PC, but I played with some of my friend’s university issued gateways computers (M285’s, I personally did not like the finepoint pen on this model). I was a little hesitant about Gateways because of some of the things I have heard. However, my friends helped ease those fears with their recommendation, plus it did not hurt that they help at their college computer support area and were aware of any issues with the machines.

Re: Gateway C-140X Owners Lounge
Wow, you got me all excited at first, I thought when I first read this that you received yours, but then I realized that when you said got, you meant you bought it..
On a separate note, how long did it take people's orders to move from "ordered" to "processing"? I ordered mine on 7/2 and its not yet processing which just seems a bit odd to me.Gateway C-140X - 2.20 GHz C2D, 4 Gb Ram (via Crucial), 120GB HD, GMA X3100, fingerprint reader, WACOM, Bluetooth

Re: Gateway C-140X Owners Lounge
I ordered mine last thursday and by friday it was on the 'processing' stage. Someone else posted that it takes 7 business days for processing so hopefully by tuesday or wednesday it moves to the 'in production' stage.
Does anyone know of if this site is going to get a review model for this bad boy?

Re: Gateway C-140X Owners Lounge
sorry about that. But yes i got 150 off too which basically made it tax free, and paid for shipping. I would really like a review too, just in case there is something drasticlly wrong with it i can cancel my order.

Re: Gateway C-140X Owners Lounge
does anyone else's status show ordered but not processing? This is kinda starting to worry me, they better not be putting it on hold, I kinda do need this tablet around the estimated arrival date...
