Re: Android x86 4.0rc1 on Acer w500
I was considering adding Android and was hoping people could help with a few questions. I currently have a 128GB SSD *installed with win 7 on the main partition and win8 consumer preview on a 20GB partition. I'm thinking of getting rid of the Win8 and playing with Android for now so my questions are:
1. *How much space should I partition for Android?
2. *What file format for the partition? NTFS?
3. Is there anything I need to do for dual boot options? *Currently my tablet is a little fussy trying to dual boot and switch between 7 and 8. I get a lot of bootmgr errors and have to attempt 2 or 3 times to boot each time.*
4. *If there is a fix for the boot issues, is it possible to comfortably triple boot?

I know in the bottom right corner if you choose all settings you can allow auto rotate and you can make it rotate manually, try that, maybe the option has been deselected

I followed your instructions from a few pages back and was successfully able to dual boot. However, I ended up removing Android because it just wasn't stable enough for me. The annoying sound issues that others have reported were a big turn off. But nonetheless, your guide worked fine. Thanks for posting it.

Re: Android x86 4.0rc1 on Acer w500
I'm following along on this tutorial just fine. My Windows 8 Developer preview is updating before it loads >_>. One quick note though.. I loaded the camera on android before I rebooted and it only used the back camera. Does the front camera not currently work with android? I will post my success with easybcd or whatever soonly.
EDIT: Windows 8 Developer Preview had not been used in a while and the key had expired.. entered new key to reactivate windows. Was having windows update problem. Now Windows Update still does not work. EasyBCD 2.1.2 needs windows update to complete the installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and will not start until it is updated.. guess I am at a standstill.Last edited by theunleet; 05-12-2012 at 08:48 PM.
